PDQ my ugly knees/lower thighs closeup ha.
Ok. I ordered the Original Tours in a 7. They fit awesome in the ankle but are pretty snug in the calf area. Snug to where I could really only wear leggings and maybe some thin thin jeggings. (I'm having trouble finding a good tight enough fit in maternity jeans but that is a whole other story).
I thought an 8 would give me a little more room. And they do, but are a lot taller! They hit me in the knee and not good when I walk. Uncomfortable. I think they certainly don't work.
See the difference?
I wanted the Tours so I could pack them if I needed them (we go to Portland to see DHs family enough to justify the need) but then I also got some duck boots and can just pack those if it looks like wet weather.
I went and tried on the original 7s I do have and I'm not crazy there's definitely more room in the calf area. Can you tell?
However, the coral pink ones have always been pretty loose in the ankle. So much that I'm usually putting two pairs of socks on to mitigate, which is meh depending on the weather. I really like how the tours stay in place. I don't feel like I'm about to walk out of them like I do with the other ones. From my feet to mid calf, the tours feel great. On up, a tad snug but not uncomfortable (without any pants on ha).
Zappos shows a half lb difference between the originals and tours. I could get the original glossy and scrap the tours. What would my fellow s&bers do? A little more forgiving room in the calf or a good fit in the footbed and ankle? Would the tours stretch out any?
I think I'd go for more room. I love my hunters but they have no give and are pretty restrictive. I do like the shorter length on you though. That's a great color.
I really want a pair of these but can't justify them and think I'd look ridiculous wearing them in Fl. Someone tell me I'm wrong so I can buy them too!

Doesn't it rain a LOT in FL?! Why wouldn't you want wellies to keep your feet dry ? ?
callmehales It does, just about every day in the summer. I haven't seen people wearing them but you make a good point.
What part of Florida? I am from Miami and it rains but it is normallyjust a quick rain. I def would not want to be wearing them for a 10 min shower and I would find them to be hot.
thejackpot I'm in Orlando. The only time I'd be able to convince myself to wear them is during the cooler months but even then we're talking very few days.

Well, it is a little cooler there (my grandparents and extended family live there) if you need a nudge They would look cute but not very practical but you may just be a trendsetter.

For your maternity jeans comment. I received from someone else some hand me down jeans. The Jessica Simpson maternity skinnies are nice and fitted around the calf if that is what you are looking for.
Hmmm that's tough. I wouldn't go for the 8 because they are uncomfortable to walk in. The 7 would probably work for me since I wear my hunters mostly with leggings and tights, but I would hate to not have the option to wear them with skinny jeans. It's too bad there's no half sizes. I've had my pair for maybe 4 years. There's definitely no stretch. Don't keep them if they are too tight.

You're the second person to recommend them. I'm going to have to take a look. Why won't AE make maternity jeans dammit.

Honestly, I was surprised as I would not have purchased them myself. There is a pretty decent promotion right now if you buy at Macy's. I think it is buy 3 Maternity items and get 30% off. You can return what doesn't work for you. I also just noticed that they have some postpartum leggings/pants which sound interesting for the future.
If you're not a Costco member or you ARE but can't purchase because they are out of your size, you can order through Nordstrom's online chat and receive a price match.

I just did this. I tried to sneak the adjustable in black gloss by. They only let me get the matte green because that's all Costco has. But still, yay!

I was too chicken shit to try for something "not on the list" so I have a pair of matte navy coming to me. I'm excited!!!

Another recommendation for the Jessica Simpson maternity skinnies here! They are more like jeggings IMO. They also don't sag like a lot of full panel maternity jeans do for me.
