Even it isn't my dream vacation (my dad's house), it is on the beach, we have fun, we eat awesome food, and don't spend a lot of money. Plus, I won't be at this crazy ass place (and believe me...the last 2 days at work have been bat shit crazy.)
So....walking/playing on the beach, riding in my dad's golf cart, getting snowcones, eating the best Jerk wings ever, looking in all of the trinkety shops, going on a dolphin tour, eating the most awesome chicken tenders - really they are phenomenal, reading while looking at the ocean, seeing some friends from high school, playing on the beach, reading....yeah..
I'm going to be working on a cake today and the ASW will be visiting during lunch to see how Owl is eating (hopefully she pulls it together today, the last few days haven't been good eating days).
Tomorrow we are going to J's grandpa's 89th birthday party.
I feel like this weekend is going to be a whirlwind!
Tonight we have a end-of-summer party at daycare that coincides with Rosebud's last day there so its going to be very sad Her teachers have already started getting teary at pick up this week. They've known and loved her since she was 5 months old. Ugh, i cant even think about it...and poor RB has no idea how much her little life is going to change. Can you tell I'm a ball of anxiety over all of this??
After that party I'll be heading out to happy hour with some girlfriends. Well.timed.
Saturday morning we may or may not hit a playdate with our gay families group. At noon we have RB's preschool orientation. (stomach in knots. How in the world is my infant going off to preschool?? i hope we made the right decision...) She'll be meeting her teacher and checking out her new school. After that we have a birthday party for friends which, again, is well timed since I'm sure the party will be relaxing and fun.
Sunday morning Sprout and Rosebud have a playdate with a foster-adopt family we met recently, then we have plans with people to meet up at a Touch a Truck event. After that it will be off to MA for a GTG with Brit, Hen and possibly other folks! Looking forward to it!!
Monday I'm off of work with Rosebud for back to school preparations...then Tuesday is Sprout's first day and Wednesday is Rosebud's first day. Gah!
2brides - enjoy vacation!! Sounds fantastic! Hensmum - I'm so jealous of your night alone! Butterfly - will you post pics of your cake when done? CT - I'm seriously exhausted just from reading your post. How the hell are you doing all of that on Sunday?
Tomorrow I'll drive out to Boston to stay with a friend who is dealing with a serious illness. I'm helping her set up her apartment and then I'll take her out shopping, to the salon, and anywhere else she wants to go.
Sunday my friend and I will do whatever she needs help with. Depending on what time allows I might be able to drop in to the MA gtg for a few moments.
This will be my longest time away for JB and K's longest time alone with JB. I'm already sad, excited, and stressed. :-p
I am kind of excited because Sunday is my 25th birthday. I go back and forth between feeling really, really young and ridiculously elderly as a result. I'm bummed I will be away from S on my birthday this year, but I get to celebrate with both my parents and then the following week I move into our new apartment in Boston which is only a couple of blocks away from where my sister lives, so overall I am feeling pretty good.
Other than celebrating Sunday I have the whole house to myself because I'm staying with my mom and she and my stepdad are camping. I have to do reading to prepare for my 1st grad school classes and for orientation. My vacation is coming to a close!
tonight Scoop is working so I am on my own. I think I am going to try to put up the wall decals I got for Annies room. She is on her way to a princess bedroom. She loves her princesses and tells EVERYONE that when she turns 5 she can go to Disney and meet them.
Tomorrow we have to go to Scoops doctor for her quarterly blood draw, then we are going to Ikea for some wandering and meatballs.
Then tomorrow night Annie is spending the night at her Nana's because she has an early playdate with her friend on sunday morning that my MIL is taking her to. She loves sleepovers at Nanas so it should be fun for her and I can sleep in peace.
Sunday morning will be errands then a nap before work

Tonight: run. Probably work on some stuff around the house.
Tomorrow: I dunno. My wife is doing some beer thing in the evening. I might go with her as a DD if we can find a sitter.
Sunday: she's working, I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe go to the zoo or the conservatory with my boy and my camera? We're having a dinner cookout at my parents' to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday!

Today is E's last day at her school where she's been from age 2 through kindergarten. :-( She is beyond excited to start first grade at the big school. Mommy is just having a mommy moment, I guess.
Tonight: Meeting up with my BFF and her family for dinner. We haven't got to see each other and catch up in a while so it will be great. After that going to A's to see her when she gets off work.
Tomorrow: Spending a chill day with A before she leaves on Sunday for a weeklong business trip.
Sunday: A will leave early to catch her flight. I'll probably work on things around the house, get groceries, do some cooking for the week, etc.
Work. I work night on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then I go to school during the week. So pretty much all my time is dedicated to work, school, or taking care of C. Boring life I know!
