The Bone Collector - Jeffrey Deaver Painless - Derek Ciccone Sick - Brett Battles Child 44 - Tom Rob Smith (This may be like Millenium Trilogy for some people... its a bit slow) Eileen Reed Series - Bonnie Ramthun Anything by Karin Slaughter
The early Alex Cross Series - James Patterson
The Body Finder Series - Kimberly Derting (YA)
The Abbey - Chris Culver The Value of Life & To Kill or not to Kill - Andy Crowson
Boris Akunin's Erast Fandorin Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles Rita Mae & Sneaky Pie Brown's Mrs Murphy Ashley Gardner's Captain Lacey Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher Kate Ross' Julian Kestrel (I am so sad there are only 4!) Victoria Thompson's Gaslight Mysteries
I also really enjoy Marian Babson's mysteries, and Mary Stewart's thrillers, but those aren't really a series as such.
I agree with the previous poster about Child 44. It's definitely worth reading, but it can be a bit slow. I have the other books in the series, but have not begun them yet.
I am also working my way through Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple mysteries, as well as Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey. And I am prepping to tackle Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe series -- though I have heard many of those as audio books on family car trips.
I am serious mystery fan, as evidenced by the fact that my cat was named Wimsey after Lord Peter and had a teddy bear named Archie after Archie Goodwin in the Nero Wolfe series.
I tease my mother that I come by my love of mysteries naturally. My middle name is from a character in Dell Shannon's Luis Mendoza mysteries.
Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache series. The first few aren't as good, but you can easily skip those (unless you just can't read out of order). I started with #7, then #6, then read the others in a kind of random order.
Agatha Christie
Tana French (though hers are hit or miss for me)
Kate Atkinson, for a sort of literary mystery. Be warned that she doesn't make friends with semicolons until the more recent books.
In Death series by JD Robb (Nora Roberts) Rizzoli and Isle series by Tess Gerritsen Bones series by Kathy Reichs ditto on Alex Cross series by James Patterson Maggie O'Dell series by Alex Klava early Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell Alex Cooper series by Linda Fairstein Eve Duncan series by Iris Johansen
All of the books I listed are about cops/detectives and medical examiners. Guess I need to branch out.
Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell - I haven't been keen on the last 3-4 of them though. Early Alex Cross by James Patterson Lisa Jackson Iris Johansen Catherine Coulter
