Day 1 word counts?

I'm only up to about 500 words right now, but I do the bulk of my writing at night after everyone is in bed. 

Where is everyone else?

500 is still good, especially if you're a night writer normally. I also typically find beginnings hard. I'm usually okay with prologues since I know what has to happen and ponder them before the month starts, but chapter one gets me a lot. Figuring out characters is hard!

I'm continuing something I've written before and am in the same universe I've been in for a while. Unfortunately I had to finish my re-read of what I already had of my book since I hadn't read it in a long time and didn't manage to finish before yesterday. I didn't start til after 1 pm because of that, which made me worry I wouldn't have a 5k day one, since that's what I have done every other year. Good news is, I'm sitting at 5556.

All that writing to say I hit 5556 is probably why I can win NaNo haha.

I'm at 2101 right now and will get a bit more done before bed I hope. I threw in a last minute prologue today, so that was interesting. I've had less than 2 hours to write today.

I finished with just over 1800 words, so I caught up thank goodness. How did everyone else's night go? Anyone still up writing?

I managed to get 2108! I was worried I wouldn't have enough time to write today, we needed up being really busy, but I managed to get some done after the kids went to bed. Phew!

I hit 3320 by midnight. We will be traveling all day today, so I needed to get a jump start.
