My house is natural cedar shingles with a clear stain. Here's a photo of it from last Christmas. I'm having it restained the same natural color, and want to paint the door a color. What color? I'm not a very good photographer and this picture is from almost-dusk (I wanted to get the lights, but it wasn't quite dark enough for that) and the actual color is light, and much closer to the sunlit second floor that the bottom half, which is in shadows.
What color should I choose? I won't be replacing the roof any time soon and if I do it will stay light grey. And the window woodwork is staying white. I was thinking possibly reddish, like a really deep salmon, not fire-engine red; or possibly forest green (I live next to a woods).
There's a lot more ground cover now, most of it deep green and maroon. The rhododendron is white and I have a brief splash of yellow daffodils. Thanks!

I don't know how much a "pop" will matter with white woodwork and a white storm door. Perhaps shutters?
I do want to do shutters eventually, but I've been here 20+ years and havent done them yet so I'm pretty sure I won't get around to it. The lack of jambs arounds the windows on the top floor has always bugged me. My house calls out for shutters.
The only thing I"m going to recommend is to pick two different colours (or more if you want, but it could get spendy) and test it.
We ultimately tested 3 different colours, and the lime green that ultimately won, when finished turned out to be a bright yellow when it was all said and done. (Different lighting/sunshade etc)
