As much as I don't approve of doping being used to give an athlete advantage, I still find this sad. I don't think I'm sad for him, just sad that we all rooted him on and were so proud of all the titles.
It's really sad, but there had to be some level talent and hard work there to beef up. If you gave me a shitton of steroids there's no way I'd win the Tour de France.
If you gave me a shitton of steroids AND A MOTORCYLE there's no way I'd win the Tour de France.
ditto
um. yeah. this.
what bothers me is that what he did was considered legal (right?), and every one else was doing it, too. but it doesn't bother me TOO much, bc he cheated on his wife. i stopped liking armstrong years ago
don't they take tests to make sure there are no drugs in their systems??? i swear they do and they must pass. i think this shit is bogus and it isn't fair.
I'm really unhappy about it. My husband said OBVIOUSLY he did doping, no way could someone win that many times. I don't know, I liked it and found it inspiring and I don't WANT to believe badly. Then my hubby pointed out they probably can't give those titles to the next in line because in order to find someone who didn't have any doping, it would probably be the kid in some small alpine village.

lol, but ditto. I never liked him and the fact that he ditched her after she supported him through cancer makes me :@

he's taken multiple drug tests, but the goal of pro athletes is just to stay ahead of the testing.
I said this on another board too, but as someone who raced cycling in college, he most definitely was doping. as was they guy who got second. and the guy who got third. and the guy who got forth. all of this nonsense is just frustration that an american was winning the tour de france so many times and a total witch hunt.
