1. We haven't discussed names much and won't until we know the gender. We don't like the same kinds of names. The last name he suggested to me was Virgil. Uh, no.
2. For a girl I really like Mira, possibly Mirabel with Mira for short. Also on my list are Viola, Maura and Scarlet. I don't have a favourite for boys but some that I like are Archer, Linus, Rory.
3. When we had DD, my boy name pick was Emmett but now it's a big pop culture reference with Twilight so I'm not so sure.
I hate like 99% of boy names. So this is going to be pretty hard. There's one name I'm starting to lean towards but a) I haven't yet discussed it with DH and b) I like it but I'm not sure I love it.
And I have zero middle names. Last time we knew we had to use Paul so at least it was something to start with. This time I have nothing.
1. I'm way too early in the pregnancy to have these convos with dh. However, that doesn't stop me from making note of names I love! Girl: June Hazel Magnolia Genevieve Alice
Boy: I would like to either incorporate the name walker or John. Both are family names on my side.
2. I know dh didn't love Genevieve or magnolia last time... So we will see what he says. He has definite opinions.
3. I love clementine and and a million other girl names dh can't stand. We have never found a boy name that speaks to us. Thankfully dd was a girl.
Big fan of nearly all of these! I feel like we should compare lists - haha! I love Magnolia, but unfortunately it doesn't work with our last name.
oh, OH! so you know how nevaeh took off, cuz it's heaven spelled backwards?
DH loves to joke we can name a girl natasliah.....cuz it's HAIL SATAN backwards. and he's a loon.
I still have no clue how this is supposed to be pronounced. Thank god I'm not a teacher. Names from other cultural backgrounds I have no problem making the effort to say correctly. Ridiculous made up names, no.

My friend recently had a baby and one of the NICU told her about the worst name she'd come across in recent memory.
The name: Sssst.
The pronunciation: Forest.
It's a word puzzle. Four s's and a t. Four S + T. Forest.
My eyes rolled so far back in my head, I could see my brain. That poor, poor child.

Is it wrong that I only know how it's pronounced because a girl on 16 and Pregnant named her kid this?!
(Hello my name is Jessica and I still watch MTV at age 41) ;-)
My cousin and his wife had a baby boy last week which they named Layne. I think that's a very cute name but when I was on the phone with my mom and we were talking about it she asked me if we were going to use a real name or a made up name. Apparently she thinks Layne is a made up name. I was just like whatever mom, we haven't decided on a name yet.
This is just more verification of our choice to keep the name a secret from everyone.

We kept DS's name a secret from everyone until after he was born. And it's not a made-up name by any means (Benjamin). I just didn't want anyone's comments to make me second-guess my name choice!
We've had our boy name picked for years. Our paternal grandfather's have the same first name and our maternal grandfathers have the same second syllable in their name which happens to be a name on it's own. We're torn between 2 girl names and probably won't make a decision on it until we meet her (if it's a girl). We gave the baby a nickname (Goat, it came from zygote) when I was like 7 seconds pregnant and that's what we always call it so no matter what we name it, I have a feeling most will call it goat.

DH and I are planning on this as well.
i'm pretty sure my sister and my BFFs think by "tell no one" we mean "tell no one but them"....

My mom was so annoyed I wouldn't tell her last time. It's like she took personal offense to the fact that I wouldn't tell her. But we told NO ONE! Not just her.
I normally wouldn't mind sharing with my parents or my MIL but I really don't want to hear their opinions on it. I absolutely cannot share it with my co workers though. If I do, because I live in the south, everything will be monogrammed or have the name embroidered on it. That is just not my style. My boss and my admin keep giving me a hard time about this.

M still goes by Bean in our house.
I kind of hate it when other people call her that. I told my mom she needed to come up with her own nickname. So she calls her what she called me.

Omg YES, baby doesn't need 400 onesies with his/her name on them. I don't need weirdos out and about knowing my kid's name.

Aw, work/life got crazy and I missed a bunch of *poof*ed names!
1. We are pretty sure on (PDQ) *poof* and *poof*. A and O are family names. We've had hers chosen since before we started TTC.
2. I LOVE Aiden, and I don't care how insanely popular it is!
3. Hazel was my grandmother and I'd kind of like to use it, but it just feels too soon. We love Seamus, but don't want him to have to deal with spelling/pronunciation issues, so we're settling for that just being his in utero nickname (and we call her Siobhan).
