Replacing stair balusters with wrought iron?

Anyone done this before? Any tips? where did you buy yours from?

I think DH and I might tackle this soon. He is super handy. I think the tricky part for us is that our balusters are not the spindle ones, but square top and bottoms, so there are no holes in the railing.

I'm not sure you'll know exactly what you are dealing with until you take it apart. Normally even the square balustrades are tabbed into the bottom and top rail.

We haven't done it but I think I read a post on garden webs about it. Apparently you can buy "shoe" pieces if you are replacing square balusters.

Yea I think I will have to do shoes on top and bottom
