I'm sorry that you have to be on bedrest. Just remember that pregnancy sort of has a mind of its own and it's nothing you did or didn't do to cause this. I'm glad your little girl is still doing well. Try to just rest and catch up on fun shows or something. Hang in there.

Pre-e is much more common in first time moms. I had it with my first and not my second. You didn't do anything wrong. My pressures were labile, but stayed low as long as I was lying down on my left side. Even sitting up raised my bp. Good luck, lie down, and keep that baby baking. Be well.

Actually, the levels of blood pressure and symptoms don't always correlate with preeclampsia. Some women have symptoms and mild increases in blood pressure. Other women can have very high blood pressures and feel relatively well.
It is great that you are still feeling well. Let your doctor know if you have any symptoms. good luck!

Bummer! My blood pressure got a bit high with dd, and my midwife told me to take it eat, but to also we K for 30 minutes a day. Also, I know it is super hard not to munch when you are home alone on bed rest, but try to eat a super healthy high protein diet, as that apparently can help with pre-e.
I was on bed rest with Ds from weeks 34-37, and he was born sept 18, at 37 weeks, so I went on bed rest right about now, 5 years ago. The hardestart for me was the inactivity, and feeling like I missed the beautiful end of summer and early fall weather. I was allowed to go to the y and float around the pool some, which helped my swelling a lot, and made me less crabby! So it doesn't hurt to ask your dr. If something like would be ok!
I was similar to you and didn't have pre-e, so you may just have high BP. I did end up going into labor at 36 weeks but DS was healthy and over eight pounds. Hoping for the very best for you and I recommend watching Greek and Veroinica Mars, good mindless television.
I'm sorry it is up higher. I felt kind of the same way when I had my high bp signaling the pre-e. But by the time it got really bad I could tell from the headaches.
Have they put you on any BP meds? I'm on Procardia now and they'll add Labeletol (sp) if it starts climbing. (ETA: my BP remained high after my pre-e pregnancy so I've been on Procardia since my son arrived. I do not have pre-e so far with this pregnancy.)
And 34 weeks, 4 days is good if you do end up going early. IIRC your past the huge milestones for lung and heart development. Not that you want to meet LO early.
Oh, and just to play devil's advocate, my MFM did a study on bed rest and pre-e and basically it said bed rest does shit for pre-e. So why those suckers put me on bed rest I really don't know (at least not until it got to the you-may-have-a-stroke-and-need-to-be-in-the-hospital levels). So if bed rest is just adding to your anxiety, talk to your dr about if it is really doing you any good.
Try not to be too hard on yourself. I was an active, healthy runner and had an easy, uneventful pregnancy until 36 weeks.
Luckily my LO made it and is happy and healthy today but made me aware that pregnancy and giving birth is truly a miracle and made me so thankful for advances in medicine.
It's really good your being monitored and hoping your LO gets to stay put a bit more. Good luck
I'm so sorry! It really does suck to be stuck on the couch. I'm sure that your H will step up. I kept myself busy with little projects (hand sewing curtain tabs, making a mobile), watching all of the Harry potter movies (I'd never watched before) and lots and lots of nesting.
Good luck and try to relax (I know, easier said than done). Definitely watch some tv shows, it helps pass the time ;-) My summer favs: Suits, Royal Pains, Political Animals, Necessary Roughness
Labetalol made my head tingle. I had controlled high bp but around 33/34 weeks it went too high, but not pre-e. I got partial bed rest and worked half days from home, mainly because I asked the midwife not to totally write me out of work as I didn't have a lot of sick time.
At 37.5 weeks he failed an NST, then a BPP, then another NST (he eventually passed the NSTs but took too long).. I got induced the next day and he was born a few days later.
