Grand Velas or Royal Hideaway Playa del Carmen?

No, but my sister stayed at the RH in April and said it was pretty amazing. She loved the food, the service, and the beach the most. She felt like some of the hotel needed some updating, but that she'd definitely go back.

Royal Hideaway has the best service i have ever experienced in any other resort...ever!
It has been many years since we have been there so I do not know what its like now...but i will always compare the service there with every other place we go!

It has been awhile for us too....about 7 years. But it was wonderful. The best RCI property out there, for sure.

We stayed at the RH about 6 years ago & it's the AL that all others will always be compared to & will never best, in my book at least:) The food, service & amenities were all 5 star.
I haven't stayed at GV but have stayed at Casa Velas and really liked it there too. Our room had a private dipping pool & backed up onto the golf course. The food was very very good as well.
