Two years ago was the first time I let anyone read my writing. I sent it to all of my book club friends (8 I think?) 5-6 read it and 3-4 gave me really good feedback. I went back and edited it, resent and 2-3 read it again and gave me a stamp of approval I still would need to edit a bit more and add some content before I could submit it to any publishers. It ended at 60k words, and people I've spoken to said I should have 80-90k before submitting. I would love to go back and add... maybe I'll try in January after I do this novel's first edit and send it out to them.

My sister has read nearly everything I've done in the past. Almost half of them are a universe we're co-writing, but my first 3 books were all different and she's read them.
DH has read my first two for sure and I'm not sure about the rest. He actually also read my sister's first NaNo in its mostly unedited CreateSpace form (like my first two).
Other than that, nobody has read what I've written except for fan fiction. I would be okay with author friends reading some of them, especially the stand alone ones, since they understand the way first drafts turn out. In Chris Baty's words, "lower your expectations from 'best seller' to 'would not make someone vomit'." But random friends who say they want to read NaNo books as I'm writing them? Lol no.

No one. lol. I'm really private about my writing. H doesn't even know what my novel is about this year. I might post this one since it's fanfiction someday but all of my writing stays pretty private.
I've offered every 'win' to my husband and he's never taken me up on it. I get a tiny bit sad. But it's totally not his genre so I get it. At this point I've gotten over being nervous of what people will think. I write songs, recorded an album, write a blog (food) and write stories. I don't pretend to think it's earth shattering stuff, it's pretty basic bitch stuff, haha. But it's who I am

No one reads as I'm writing. Ever.
DH and my mom both read my first novel. DH read the second half-ass draft of my second novel. He started reading and got halfway through my 2013 novel but quit. He said he wants to read 2014, but hasn't touched it.
