I can handle a litter box, but not another animal that requires regular grooming. If I were to get an indoor short haired cat it would be pretty much self bathing right?
I'm not getting a cat any time in the near future. The subject came up and I think that someday, somehow, I might wind up getting a cat. One of my dogs is old and failing and when his time comes my other healthy active dog will be lonely, and he's never going to want anything to do with the baby. And I'm not into getting another fluffy dog. Or really another dog of any kind, for a long time.

I have 2 indoor cats and every now and then I bathe them, but not in a sink or tub. They sell these toilettes, kind of like baby wipes, that are for cleaning animals. They smell really good and they are safe if the cat licks himself right after. I will wipe them down every couple months just so they smell nice. Cats are awesome by the way. They are very independent and if you get a nice one, they give you unconditional love like a dog but with way less work.

I only bathed my cats when they were kittens. I have bad allergies to kittens but I had to do it less and less as they aged and now don't at all unless they have been boarded which we haven't done in years. Occasionally I will wipe one down with a wet towel.
