My dog was bouncing around in the backyard, and I thought she had a toy and was pulling stuffing out of it.  I went over to stop her, and it turns out she had somehow got a bird, and was ripping it to pieces.  Ugh.  It was still flapping when I ran into the house for a dishtowel and some plastic bags.  By the time I got back outside it had stopped flapping, but I put the dishtowel over it and then snapped its neck just in case.  I feel horrible.

I'm sorry you had to do that . My dog caught baby bunnies in the past and the same happened. It's so upsetting. This year we had no bunnies in our yard, thankfully.
