I don't really know the logistics of it, because I've never played in this format. I just know that it would be deliciously old school. Littlest sis finds it endlessly entertaining that we both play RPGs, but I use dice like a pathetic angry Luddite.
I dunno. I think we should be open to more than just the classic dungeon delves though. Like I said, I've never played in the message board or chat formats, only tabletop. DH has some Doctor Who modules he wrote, possibly a Torchwood story. I have Buffy player resources, but there might be a module included. I also have Star Wars player resources.

Play by post games are fun, but they can be a bitch to get set up to be functional. I'd totally be down for some kind of RPG though. Would be....would be excellent!

Doctor Who modules? That sounds interesting. Text base style is a good idea for this format too (whoever mentioned that, good idea)
deliciously old school = MUD/text-based RPG in my mind.
I can't be the only nerd who played them?
You are not the only nerd. Loved playing those.
I remember my brother finally letting me play with his friends when the second ed. D&D came out. I found my first character write up a few months ago--that was ~3 decades ago.
I may or may not have a well-worn folded up drow theif from the 7th grade. Before there were pre-printed character sheets because people didnt have scanners and printers.
