How do you beat it?
I have an outline but UGH I just don't feel like writing anything off of it. I'm sitting in a coffee shop listening to the baristas talk instead of writing. I can't believe this month is almost over!

Wiiiiine! If I have to write a section I dont want to, I get a glass of wine or a beer. Alcohol relaxes me, so it helps me get through it.
Another thing I'll do is imagine the following section and how I'd like it to go in my head, which allows me to figure out how to get there from where I'm blocked.
I walk way. Come back, read the last couple of pages and ask myself what I would expect to happen next if the story wasn't mine, even if it differs from where I was trying to go earlier. Sometimes I think my subconscious is forcing me to take a different look at it or send the story down another path. It usually turns out better for me.
I mostly write romance. Chick lit. And by mostly, I MEAN ALL. I'm a total romantic so I listen to music or daydream a bit and try to imagine things when I'm laying in bed at night. I'll take a break from my laptop to imagine a scene, then i'll imagine it a bit differently, then i'll mix the two and find the best way to proceed. Mostly I play it like a movie in my head and then write the script. And I have a crush on my main male character each year. Yep, I'm a weirdo
If you're not excited about what's on the outline, what about throwing the outline out?
Now this is my first NaNoWriMo, so it's likely that I don't know what I'm talking about. While I'm typically very much a list/outline person, I didn't have one for my project. I had an idea where I wanted to go, but as my novel has evolved, so has my idea on what needs to happen. My characters are real people to me now and things are ending up differently.
Example: My story was going to initially be about 2 little boys finding out they are decedents from the god Thor (and of course have to save the world!). However, as the story has evolved (and I've done more research on Norse mythology), it seems more interesting and actually fitting with a bigger theme in the book if they are decended from Loki. It provides some additional conflict and I'm just generally more excited about it.
