We had a crib, but no mattress, when DS was born. He didn't sleep in his crib until 5 months, so it was no big deal.
We still haven't bought bedding for DD. She could use DS's if we needed to, but she's still sleeping in either the RNP or bassinet. We plan to keep her in our room another month.

My three month old is still in the co-sleeper, which we use like a bassinet. I don't plan on putting him in his crib for at least another month. We still don't have a crib for him, well we do, but my daughter is still in it.
DS is 9.5 months & still has never slept in his crib for more than an hour or two. He started out in the rnp sleeper until 6 months & now sleeps in the bottom of his pnp. I keep telling dh he can sleep there until we turn the crib into a toddler bed!

My almost nine month old just started sleeping in his crib in his room this week, so you'll be fine. My first also slept in the pnp for 7 months. We did use the crib for naps, but not for a couple of months.
You'll be fine as long as you have somewhere for her to sleep! Like hilwithonelary, we have had our crib for a few months, but it's unusable because there's still no mattress in it. I was kind of hoping someone would buy that as a shower gift, but no one did, so we decided to just wait a bit. Baby will be sleeping in the PnP bassinet level for the first several months anyway. The crib mattress we chose is $117 on Amazon, but dipped down to $90 for a day or so in June... I'm kicking myself for not just buying it then, and now that I know the price does dip occasionally, I'm holding out--I have an alert set camelcamelcamel for next time the price dips below $100. If it doesn't before we decide we need the mattress, oh well!
Our boys were in their cribs from the get-go. This was for two reasons: the dog kept trying to jump from our bed into the co-sleeper. Also, I couldn't sleep with the boys in the the room, every time they made a noise, I woke up.
Our crib arrived after DD was born, and still wasn't really used until she was about 4 months old. She started napping there when I went back to work. Until then, she was doing all sleeping either in the Arm's Reach co-sleeper in our room, or wherever she happened to fall asleep (on me, in the swing, in the bouncer, on DH, in the carrier, etc.)
Our current TTC plan is to get some kind of bassinet if it turns out we'll still be in France when the new baby is born. We're definitely not buying a crib in this country if the plan is to head back to the U.S. by the end of next year.
My son slept in the pack n play bassinet (and then just pack n play) for 7 months before we moved back to the US from London, and he was fine! DD slept in the pnp bassinet for 5 months.
