Update on the ex in jail

So I got a call from victim services yesterday and they told me that he has come to an agreement with the crown and he will be entering a guilty plea. I don't know all the details yet but he will likely be getting 6 to 9 months plus the time that he has served already since October 12 plus a year and a half probation. I really don't think that is enough because he will likely get out a lot sooner than that but I guess that is the lovely Canadian justice system. There will still be a no contact order during the time that he is on probation and if history tells me anything I'm sure that he will find a way to mess up again. It is just really disappointing because I know as soon as he gets out he is going to find some other girl and I'm sure that he will abuse her and find a way to ruin her life too. But unfortunately I cannot control any of that. And now I have to decide if I want to write a victim impact statement. I'm conflicted on what to do about that.

As someone who's ex was prosecuted for repeated violations of the no contact order ... WRITE the victim impact statement !

Ditto. Anything you can do to help someone else not be a victim.

That is, of course, if you feel comfortable doing it. Maybe talk to your therapist about it.

Thanks. I have the forms so I'm going to take the weekend to think about it. I am leaning towards doing it though
