Hi! I haven't posted here in a while...my outfits have been very boring, LOL.
My company holiday party is 12/11. We always have a theme (not cheesy--we go over the top with the decorations, photo booth, etc.) and costumes are encouraged. This year's theme is "Carnival"..as in The Greatest Show on Earth. I'm stumped on what to do.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of using RTR...I've gained weight recently and I'm working on getting it off. I don't want to buy a dress that I'm hoping soon won't fit. And, I'm tired of buying dresses only to wear them once.
I thought of finding a fun cocktail dress and maybe getting some sort of feathered headpiece to look like performer or something like that.

Ugh. I do sympathize. I really hate work costume parties. It's hard enough getting dressed within a $50 budget. And it always seems to be a theme that guarantees some women will show up looking trashy or slutty and the men will objectify the hell out of them. HATE costume parties at work!
I googled "vintage circus performers" for inspiration and decided this is a good fit, but I'm not sure about the bra situation (also a little over my price range. but I'll get a discount since it is my first rental): www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/allison_parris/rsvp_dress
I don't mind our themed parties--everyone usually goes all-out and we have contests and photo booth (I work in a creative agency). This one just has me stumped.
