He did it again, little shit! I let Coop out for his morning duties, go put my contacts in, come back to the patio door, & see my dog running around on the other side of the chain linked fence that borders our backyard
He did the same thing in the spring b/c there was a friggin squirrel nest in the deck of the above-ground pool our neighbors have in their backyard, which bumps up to our yard.
DH is fishing w/his dad, so I drag a patio chair through the yard, stand on it, attempting not to fall ass over tea kettle into the neighbors yard AND not bend their frickin fence, jump over, wrangle up the beast (b/c whatever is under their pool is SOOOO flippin interesting), then hoist his big ass body up to shoulder height, lift him over the damn fence, lower him as much as I can (yeah, Im 5'1", the fence is pretty much up to shoulder height to me) & just drop him...then PRAY he doesn't run right back over to the loose area in the fence & climb right back under again while I somehow get my short fat ass back over...hoping & praying the neighbors don't come out & yell @ me b/c Coop is in their yard...again.
I still don't know how a tall, 65lb dog gets himself under a chain linked fence multiple times w/o getting stuck?! Turd. Lol
Can you attach ground wire to the bottom and stake that down. with time, the grass will cover right over the ground wire so you eventually won't see it. We use groudwire with the organization I volunteer for to build fences to free dogs from their chain. it prevents them from going under the fence.

This is genius! Where would I find? The only hardware stores we have here are Menards, & a few select Ace's & Hardware Hanks...both those are small, mom & pop stores.
Also, thank you for your time & dedication to helping free dogs from their chains!! That sounds like an awesome organization!
MH & I volunteer @ a foster home & adoption facility for dogs. All the dogs come from shelters or rescues, & we've had more than a handful who have spent their entire lives (10+ yrs) tied up to a tree &
You can see a picture of what we do with it by cutting it in half and have 3 rows up, 4 rows down and we use the fence to tie the cut pieces around it. See picture #7. www.fencesforfido.org/node/511
We just wrap the cut pieces around the chain link fence. Then use stakes very 2 feet or so to hold it down. Eventually grass will cover the groundwire and you won't see it.
Picture 2 in the next series are the kind of stakes we use and picture 6 shows another pic of how the ground wire is laid out and attached. www.fencesforfido.org/node/307
you can check out more pictures from builds the organization has done at fencesforfido.org They are a great organization and we love to help out. Releasing dogs off their chains is always such a happy moment!!
Are you sure he isn't climbing? We had a dog that climbed fences when I was little.
Oh def crawling, we've witnessed it. Plus he's too much of a chickenshit to attempt to go over
Our neighbor's 65lb lab/pit mix does the same thing when he is just so excited to see Georgie and I that he just cannot wait until I get to the fence and must instead wiggle under to come say hello Meanwhile, his 90lb Rhodesian Ridgeback brother is left standing in their yard, wondering howTF Max got in our yard and why can't he go too...even though he could easily clear the fence since he's freaking huge, he's thankfully not bright enough to figure that out Luckily its only happened a couple of times, but always in the winter so my neighbor and I have to chase him around my yard in the snow...good times!
Not surprised, my gsp cant be kept with a fence at all, I have watched him crawl underneath and fully climb the fence. I have him on a invisible fence at this point..I felt the actual fence sorta told him "i dare you to get out of it.." and sure as shit he did.
