I love this board, and consider it my new home (my local shut down after the FB/Twitter button fiasco) and I would really like to get to know you guys. I was wondering how some NBR (non-book related) topics, like "getting to know you" polls and sharing other non reading stuff would be received.
I'm fine with people posting what they like and sorting through and participating where I can/ want to. But, I understand that this is a book club board, and can happily take non-book topics to their specific board if nobody else likes filtering stuff.
So what do you think? Books and only books here, or let's get to know each other?

I have no objections to non-book related discussions, so long as it doesn't get out of hand. Most of us have lives outside the books we read, and sometimes those lives influence our reading and vice versa. And there is no obligation to participate in NBR threads.
