Holy shit. About an hour ago, a lady was screaming at my parents' door for help, bleeding and seriously injured. Got her inside through the garage after DH cleared the area. My parents recognized her- she just moved in a few weeks ago. Domestic violence, no one on the block had answered the door. EMTs show up, tell us to shelter in place because it was a swat situation. They get escorted out but now we're stuck. No idea what is going on. DH is listening to the scanner, there is blood all over the garage and screen door. My sister is stuck at target walking around because she can't get home. Pray for that poor woman, please. I've never seen so much blood coming out of a face.
Does your police force have victim advocates? A quick call to your non emergency line could confirm this. She as a victim and your family as witnesses are eligible for their services. This would be helpful as you process the trauma.
Just a word of caution. You probably know this. She very likely will return to her abuser. I'm so sorry for what all of you witnessed. PM me, if you'd like. Prayers for your parents neighbor. And your family.
HOLY SHIT! You guys were very kind to help out, if I saw a bloody person at my door I'm not sure what I would do. I imagine having that blood there is SO unsettling:( I'm sorry, hope everything resolves peacefully.
My dad recognized her. When she was screaming, she sounded exactly like my sister, who was on her way home from work at the moment.
Anyone have ideas on getting blood off of concrete? I used bleach and a mop but that didn't work.
Pour hydrogen peroxide on it and let it sit. After 15-20 mins scrub the hell out of it with a scrub brush. Make sure to protect yourself from splatters.
I would not clean the blood. The police should be able to send in a biohazard team to remove it, but they also may want to photograph it, to show severity, in case the woman tries to recant. If the police tell you to do it then it's up to you, but I would still ask for a biohazard cleanup. Stay safe
