When is it appropriate to start decorating or fall? I'm not saying any holiday specific, just the season. Since the summer temps stick around here until October or sometimes November, I'm always afraid I decorate too early.

After labor day for fall but not until
Oct for Halloween. After Halloween for thanksgiving.
After thanksgiving for winter/Christmas.
I'm a big fan of let one holiday/season pass before starting the next.

I completely agree about celebrating holidays one at a time when they should be. We're a 'respect the turkey' house 100%.

If it is a real tree I say leave it up. It's always the right time for the smell of a Christmas tree. It's my favorite scent ever.
