MIL sent us home with DH's late father's report cards. All of them. It's the epitome of random
You win. My MIL does shit like that too, but at least it's my husband's crap. ("Here's that dusty, disgusting Raiders hat you bought in 1991! I thought you might want it.") Or stuff she bought at a tag sale. Apparently, she boxes stuff up to send to my SIL; at least she doesn't waste money on shipping for us.
I'm waiting to hear if my SIL is going to be induced this week. She's 38 weeks, but her BP has been creeping higher and higher. I hope my nephew just decides to show up on his own soon. But I still can't believe my baby brother is having a baby. Eek.
My random: I've been binge-listening to Serial and am dying to talk to people about it, but I'm soooo a year late to the party. Six episodes in I'm still really conflicted on whether he did it or not. Someone who finished please tell me it becomes clear!

I just started this too! I'm only on episode 2 though.

Oh yay! Lets def talk about it when you get a little further in.

I was hooked on it last year. I haven't listened to any of the follow up podcasts (Rabia has one and there's another, probably less-biased one), but I loved it. Every Thursday I'd announce to my husband, "yay! It's mail keemp day!" (Please tell me the ads for mail chimp are still on there, or else that means NOTHING to you, ha.) And then we'd spend the first hour I was at work emailing about it.
I can't wait to hear what you guys think. I definitely have strong opinions.

Oh and BabyWatch December is still on. SIL is not being induced, but she has a doctor's appointment tomorrow and an ultrasound on Friday (both had already been scheduled), so we'll see. and RockNVoll, we're excited Ben will have a cousin so close in age, too. Both of them are likely to be only children, so it's good they'll have each other. SIL's brother also had a baby boy this year, in June/July, so there's a whole lot of cousins/cousin-adjacents in very close range.
Oh yay! Lets def talk about it when you get a little further in.

I really wanted to listen last year when everyone else was, but my sad iPhone 4 wouldn't support the podcast. DH and I started it on our drive home from NY on Saturday and are both hooked. No mail chimp (or any other) ads, sorry! lol. I really want to believe Adnan, he's just so darn likeable, but at this point I'm not convinced. I'll def ping you to discuss once I reach the end. Good to hear there are follow up podcasts to listen to!
I listened to Serial but couldn't get into Undisclosed--it was way too disorganized for me. Sorry to say, scm1011 , but there's no real resolution at the end of Serial, but I think he's going to have another day in court to present evidence previously left out (though it's not a full retrial at this point).
I know, right?! I wanted it all neatly wrapped up and tied with a bow at the end but it just leaves you hanging!
I also wanted some sort of resolution, but wasn't surprised it didn't happen. I thought she wrapped it up about as best as she could have given everything. What's funny to me is how vehement each side is: the people who are convinced he did it will argue passionately about how he did it(though most people concede the trial was utter BS), and the ones who are convinced he didn't will argue passionately about how there was no way he did it (and how Jay is totally guilty, heh). There seems to be very little middle ground. I do feel terribly for Hae's family, though. I know they live abroad now, but it must have been painful to have it all brought up AGAIN, and so publicly. And now with the case being reopened, they just have to relive it all over.
I haven't decided yet if I'll listen to the next season. I don't find the Bowe Bergdahl case all that compelling on the surface, but then again, who knew an almost-20 year old murder would be either?
Ok 5kcandlesinthewind and RockNVoll , now I'm dying to know what side you two are on (if you care to share).
Also, I apologize for threadjacking
No apologies necessary as far as I'm concerned. It is a randoms thread and the board is so slow.
I lean towards Adnan not having done it, if only because there's no compelling evidence that he did do it. Certainly not beyond a shadow of a doubt. So many shadows! How I wish his lawyer was still alive to explain herself because his whole case seems so horribly mis-managed as to be criminal in and of itself.
I'm trying to withhold judgment until I reach the end, but I absolutely agree with the bolded. I really want to know why the lawyer never contacted Asia about her alibi for Adnan.

And I think he's guilty. I think Jay may or may not have been more involved than he implied, but I am 100% sure Adnan killed her. I do agree, however, that the second trial was a cluster of epic proportions, and that based on what we know about it, he probably should not have been convicted.
We can have a full debate once everyone catches up.
