Crockpot Hot Cocoa?

I would like to server hot cocoa at my son's first birthday this weekend, which we are hosting at a local hall. I have been searching all over for recipes, but haven't found one I'm crazy about. Does anyone have one that they can personally recommend? Also, it looks like cooking time in the crockpot is 2hrs/high or 4hrs/low; however, I'm only going to have an hour or so at the hall before the party starts.  Should I cook it on the stove and then use the crockpot to just keep it warm?
