I leave for Portugal at the end of the week, so so excited. In November we're traveling to New York City for my brother's wedding which we'll be making a trip out of it. Nothing booked for next year although the Kentucky Bourbon Trail is an almost definite. Colombia and Ecuador are also at the top of the list for a big international trip.
Long weekend in Boston this weekend - I'm really looking forward to a break.
Weekend or at least overnight in NYC around the holidays to see the ballet and Rockefeller Plaza.
Two weeks in Hawaii (Oahu, BI, and Maui) in April.
Hopefully another long weekend/city break somewhere in there. We have air miles we need to use this year or they expire, so I will be posting soon for some long weekend ideas sometime soon. Thinking maybe New Orleans.
I promised myself I wouldn't book anymore 'big' trips until we figure out if my husband will be starting a new job this fall (interviewing next week) and how much vacation he will get.
Leaving for Alaska in 2.5 weeks - 5 days in Fairbanks/Denali, 1 week cruise down the coast, 1 day in Vancouver. I think I'm most excited about all the delicious food I'll be eating, and that I don't have to worry about wearing a swimsuit.
Just found out today that we have the weekend off so I am trying to coordinate a trip to either Goa or Kerala for the weekend. If that doesnt pan out I will be headed to Jaipur and Agra at the end of September.
Which part of Kerala? I was underwhelmed with Cochin, but I thought the cruise on the backwaters lived up to its reputation, and I was surprised by Munnar. It's gorgeous, and I liked it a lot more than I was expecting. Or were you thinking Kovalam for a beach weekend if Goa didn't work out?
One branch of my family ended up in Fort Cochin and their family home is now a hotel. Would love to go visit but sadly the flights wont work for this weekend Going to just hang out in Mumbai and explore the city with my Indian boyfriend

We're going back up to Connecticut for a wedding we're both in and my dad's 60th b-day and we'll be back again for Christmas.
H told me no more vacays since I reallllly want to finally get over to Europe and we need to save $$ and vacation time for that. I'm trying to decide between a trip to London, Paris, and Amsterdam or a Mediterranean cruise out of Barcelona. We're leaning towards the cruise because friends of ours said that's the best way to introduce ourselves to Europe and it'll be cheaper since we won't be hotel hopping and our meals will be covered. We're hoping for next spring.
We had a FREE cruise from H's work that we're missing out on *tear* because it's the same weekend as the wedding we're both in and my dad's 60th b-day. It figures.. the company wants to send everyone on a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas (on the cruise line we're building up frequent cruising on of course) the only weekend the whole year that we absolutely cannot change our plans.

5 days/4 nights in Cancun in mid-September. Possibly a weekend getaway to VA Beach at the end of September for the Neptune Festival. I'll be traveling for Thanksgiving and Christmas, too, but just to go visit family.

H just surprised me today and with a trip to NYC for my birthday next weekend. I haven't been since I moved away 7 years ago, so I'm super excited!
We're doing 12 days in Peru in October - Spending a few days in Lima and Cusco, hiking the Inca Trail and then going to Lake Titicaca. Super excited for this one, too.
We have plans on the horizon for Costa Rica after the New Year, but we're both looking to relocate and get new jobs, so not sure how the vacation situation for next year will play out just yet.
We are going to Vegas in October and then doing an Alaskan cruise in May for our anniversary. We are thinking NOLA in Fall 2013 but nothing is booked with that one yet.
I love, love, love hearing about travel plans! I am going on a 30th Birthday trip with my sister and mom to Jamaica in November. DH and I are going to Punta Cana with my parents in December. DH and and I are going to Washington DC in Feb. So excited!
We are going to New Hampshire for 4 days, for a wedding. Then London (and surrounding areas) for 6 days, Prague for 3 days, Amsterdam for 3 days.
We leave in 4 weeks, and I.cannot.wait. We really need a vacation.
and ditto the previous post - I'm jealous of people that can take extended vacations. We are taking 2.5 weeks off, and that's really pushing the max of how long DH and I can be out of our offices. (or maybe I'm just deluded about how necessary I am...)
We are going to Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos for a month in November. Yay! I am very excited!
I am always jealous of people who can spend extended periods in a region. Out of curiosity, how can you and your H do this with regards to the time off from work?
We are both real estate agents so have flexible schedules. We take almost no time off the rest of the year so that we can take a long vacation in November and/or December when business slows down.

Been thinking of getting my real estate license... I think you just gave me another reason to look into it. That is so nice that you can go away that long. I had 5 weeks paid time off plus a week carried over from last year and they won't let me take 2 weeks together.

My H and I are wanting to do 4 weeks in SE Asia next year also.
We did 4 weeks in Central/Eastern Europe last spring. It was our first time going somewhere for a month. It was amazing to save up vacation time and use it at once!
