My husband and I are moving and have decided to buy some new furniture. We have 2 dogs and they have essentially ruined our couch. It's a very light microfiber sectional, so every single thing shows up and despite my best efforts to scrub it it never gets really clean. So what is the best fabric and colors for homes with pets? I don't want to be the dog house. Or is it just impossible when you have pets?

We have leather, which does scratch, but like Star Gazer our pup is not 'allowed' on the furniture. I put down a blanket and she and I will cuddle on the couch together.

Maybe darker microfiber and/or slip covers will help.
