DD is in K. For her K teacher I think I'll do $25 and some supplies on her wish list.
For the speech teacher and other therapist she sees at school $10 and wishlist item.
I am stuck on PE, Art, Music and the nurse. I was thinking $5 gift card and something from their class wish list but their staff surveys didn't list any places they like that would be a good $5 gc amount. Maybe Redbox codes? I'm stuck.
DS goes to the preschool/MDO I work at 2x a week and has three teachers. I'll probably do $10 for each of them.
$50 for the 2 main, $25 for the two main floaters. I think there's a third, which will be $25 also, but DH does pick up and I need to double check with him.
My sons full day k teacher is getting $40 to target...she has definitely earned it! He can be a challenge but she is doing great with him. My DDs teachers are only a few hours a week preschool so they are getting $15 and a little bag of chocolates.
DS has 4 teachers/assistants in his room and they're all getting a $25 GC. I bought them at Costco, so it was about $70 OOP. However, I'm spending a ton of time making a GC holder for each one because they didn't give me envelopes or anything at Costco!
Last year we did $50 for both her teachers but this year we are cutting back and doing $25 GCs. Part of me feels bad, but that's about half what we're spending on each other for Christmas...
I usually do $25 each assist & $50 main. My girls had 7+ teachers so I think it gets pricey. This year I'm just contributing to the general teacher bonus fund..probably $250 because we are trying to keep the costs down this year.
Your situation sound similar to mine. I wasn't as confused when doing daycare. Somehow school 3x a week for 4 hours makes my head spin trying to figure out how much to go.
1 primary teacher (preschool), 1 sub-primary (the pre-k teacher who also works with preschool kids), 1 assistant, and 1 education director that works with the children at least three times a week. It is hard to monetize the value of what each teacher does since it's such a small school (like 15-20 kids max per day).
This year, I decided to skip gift cards and KISS by doing fun chocolates. So, this is what our school gifts look like for 2015. *Main teacher = A mini of Freixenet Sparkling Cordon Negro Brut Cava, and TJ's Dark Chocolate Collection *Main teacher aid/ Spanish after school teacher = A mini of Freixenet Sparkling Cordon Negro Brut Cava, and TJ's Takes Flight Dark Chocolate Tasting Odyssey *Part time PM teacher = TJ's Painterly Palette * Two PM assistant teachers = TJ's Chocolate Dessert Pyramid Collection for each *Principal & Main Office Secretary = TJ's Peppermint Jojos for each We'll also be purchasing lab chairs, as a part of a school fundraiser/ EOY donation. The chairs are $85/ each. I think we'll be donating 2 - 4 chairs.
TJ's is still pretty new here (opened 9 months ago) so I'm going to steal your ideas for Ds1s preschool teachers
I think we will do $50 for my son's 1st grade teacher and $25 for both of my 3 year olds teachers. I think my oldest son may have an assistant on occasion in his class so I will probably do $15 for her once I figure out her name. Lol
I'm a teacher. I give cash to DD's teachers. She has a main teacher and an aid so we do $40/teacher and then another $30 to put towards classroom needs/wants.
I think last year her teacher said he bought a new pencil sharpener for the class because theirs was busted. He was bringing pencils to the neighbor class and sharpening them every day before school or at lunch.
