Our diabetic cat is still peeing in the house. I'm at my wit's end. H is about totally fed up.
It's definitely a marking type of pee, and he's not always going in the same places. I've tried cleaning with baking soda, Nature's Miracle, and Fizzion. I have a feliway diffuser in the bedroom.
I'm calling the vet today, but I appreciate hearing about any experiences you've had.
Oh, and his diabetes is fully under control, and has been for several weeks now.
Mine did better on Valium; we also trial Prozac and Estrogen. You may have to trial a couple options.
Mine wasn't diabetic, but was anxious because of outdoor cats marking around our home. Valium reduced, but didn't eliminate the behavior. Prozac didn't work as well for us and Estrogen was a waste of time although his personality was much sweeter.
Yes, that was the next step the vet would recommend for us. We have Feliway plugs in each level of the house, feed her some expensive stress cat food, have 4(!) litter pans for only 2 cats, scoop the pans daily, and fed her Purina Fortiflora probiotics for a month. She finally stopped peeing everywhere, but we would have gone to pills if necessary.
ETA: Oh yeah, we still sprinkle Cosequin and Vetri-Mega probiotic on her food daily.

Worked for a friends cat. No idea why she used to pee everywhere but it has stopped. Only downside is she will be on it for life. They have tried weaning her off and she goes right back to peeing everywhere
