So I finally got my glucose test results back from a week ago. I passed! Still have to repeat it at 28 weeks but I'm glad I don't have to do the 3 hour.
We're hoping to do renovations on our house before baby comes so we're meeting with the contractor tonight. I hope we can start this right after the holidays. They gave us a timeframe that it would only take 4-6 weeks to do the project, but I find that hard to believe. However, friends of family used these same people and they said that not only did they come in under time, but also under budget! So we shall see. I'm already stressed out about this and it hasn't even officially started!
@cookiemonster03 - our house is a Cape Cod so we're adding a 3rd bedroom upstairs (instead of the ^ (triangle) shaped room we have now which serves us no purpose) and a much bigger bathroom. Since they're bumping out the roof, I have no idea how they're going to do this in Northeast wintertime (although we've been lucky so far with temps!) but they don't seem to think it'll be an issue and said we can live in the house downstairs while they're renovating.
I'm 90% sure the baby turned from head down to transverse last night, but flipped back to head down in the last couple of hours. This is all very nerve racking and strange.
Those are big renos jessnpaul ! Sounds like it will make a huge difference in your house, though. We're well into month three on our bathroom renovations. I don't even know if I've updated here because I type it out and delete to avoid being too negative. If they are not 100% done by Christmas, I'm going to start tearing my hair out.

Feel free to vent here!
We redid our staircase a few years ago (using a different contractor) and I remember how long that took and how frustrating it was living downstairs, and that was before my (now 3.5 year old) kid was a blip on the radar! I'm just worried DS will get sick of living downstairs really fast. I foresee a lot of sleepovers at grandma/grandpa's house!

dear target, sending me an email that something shipped means it should ship. NOT THAT THE LABEL WAS CREATED ON SUNDAY AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE THEN. love, i want my stretchy jeans dammit.
I'm back at work today after taking Friday and Monday off due to this plague. My boss' wife covered for me and is sort of who will be covering me for ML so coming in to a hundred sticky notes about stuff I've trained her on several times made me really nervous to be gone for 10 weeks.
That sounds like a very worthwhile project jessnpaul !! Hopefully the weather holds out!
We (and by "we" i mean mostly "me") have wanted to do this for years! Baby just kinda pushed the project forward. I'm so glad... I hate the current layout of our upstairs. It's just a lot of wasted space right now!

I'm pretty sure my baby has been head down for weeks (based on where I was feeling hiccups) and switched to transverse Sunday night. And hasn't switched back. My doctor could tell where her head and butt were based on feeling around my belly yesterday, which I can't do at all, but I think I do see what he was saying about the bottom of my belly feeling relatively unfirm and empty. He assured me that she has a few more weeks to move around, but of course I want her to get head down and settle there.
The hardwood floor guy is coming this weekend to refinish the floors on the first flooor which is something I've been procrastinating on for 3 years since we pulled up the carpeting. And I am waiting on an installation date for the carpeting in what will be the baby's room.

My belly button hurts today, too, cactuscookie. It's been an outie for quite a while now, but it gets sore when they push on it from the inside (and they both seem to take turns putting their knee in it!).
I'm feeling slightly better today, although my hips/pelvis are so sore! I'm also quite tired; based on previous times I have felt like this, DH and I suspect I haven't been eating enough and don't have enough calories for my needs once the babies get theirs, so I'm going to try to snack more today.
Today I tentatively plan to do dishes, laundry (one load of household stuff and one load of baby stuff!), work on my birth plan, update a document for my volunteer group, and figure out what to put in the diaper bag. It doesn't seem like much, but I just could not drag my body off the couch yesterday!

Hey guys! I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and go buy a pair or two of early maternity pants. I have been leaving my pants unbuttoned with a hair tie, but today I went to zip and my pants can only zipper halfway. I have a longer top covering it, but it's not comfy or professional if someone sees. I feel so dumb, I'm only 8 weeks and I haven't gained any weight, but my belly is decidedly rounder and I didn't have much wiggle room in my pants to begin with. Oh well. I won't need maternity tops for a good long time, I suspect.
this was me. i don't wear really tight tops, so i think a lot of my shirts will work for awhile, but pants were a different story.
My doctor's appointment was okay. Turns out I don't need a referral to the OBs at the hospital since I'm already seeing them regularly now. My doctor just told me to talk to them about a c-section next time I have a consult (next week), since they're the ones who plan it anyway. I just hope I don't have to fight them for it too much. She didn't seem too concerned about baby's size, my bump measured at 30 weeks which is 2 weeks behind, but up 4 weeks from the measurement at our 27 week appointment when I measured about 26. I've gained about 3kg in the last 5 weeks (yikes!), so at least one of us is gaining weight, anyway.

I mean, I can feel the roundness of my belly when I lean forward while sitting. That wasn't there before. I just keep looking online and it seems like most people make it to 12 or 14 weeks before they switch over.
Of course this will vary with the individual, but I also wonder if it depends on the clothes you normally wear. I almost never wear pants - I have to actively make myself wear pants to work once a week just for variety, and I'm really picky about how they fit. I gain weight in my belly normally, so most of my pants are relatively high-waisted. Because of that, I was able to wear my regular pants until pretty late, especially once I added the belly band.
This morning I was EXHAUSTED and had to lay down for an hour. I've been running around like a mad woman since I got. I had to go get my brows done and parked super far away on purpose. Huh?!

Yeah, I wear medium rise pants that button at my roundest point so I'm sure that has something to do with it! I hated the belly band. I am curvy and small waisted and it rolled up and down (met in the middle) whenever I sat. Not subtle!
How annoying! I think it's important to be comfortable, both physically and with how you look, especially when you'll be gaining weight, which can be tough to deal with, even though we know it's necessary. So it sounds like you need to get yourself some pants you're happy with asap!

I feel like this is the story of my life, and not limited to Target. Amazon prime has ruined me.

This is making me feel better! I'm 12 weeks and I'm only wearing dresses because my pants don't come close to buttoning. I think I just need to give up and buy some maternity pants that fit.

Oh my god you guys, we contacted several contractors for repair of the flood damage before finding one who would do it. She says they won't even be able to start reconstruction for at least 3 weeks, and then it'll take 3-4 weeks to complete the work.
My due date is in 7.5 weeks. My baby will be full term in 5.5 weeks.
I've been throwing up again today. It's almost more frustrating going a few days between it because I keep thinking it's going away and then bam it's back with a vengeance. I have some Diclegis left so I guess I will start taking that again.
It's my birthday and I had a lovely day, despite some work irritations that threw off my morning. DH is still away but he sent me beautiful flowers at work and I had a nice lunch with a coworker and then dinner out with DD.
I've felt nauseated since mid-afternoon. Of course Dr. Google says this could be a sign of impending labor so I'm trying not to freak out. DH and I are taking turns talking to the babies and telling them that they can't come out for two more weeks.
