Except for me it feels like Saturday... Yay retail!
What do you have going on this week?
This is my last week before starting school. I've heard rumors that people start getting more hours at work too... So I am busy making sure that my house is clean before going into school, when I won't have time to do much else than work and study.
I am also so close to being done with H's sweater. I want to be done knitting on it today and have it washed and ready to be blocked so I can sew the hems and zipper on later this week. H wants to wear it, asap. So I am sending it off with his Birthday stuff.

Yay for being almost done with his sweater! That's awesome.
I'm working today, in fact I'm late getting out the door but I really don't care. Have to return E's shirt for my brother's wedding tonight and get something darker because he doesn't like what I picked. And I'm going to prep and cook down tomatoes for sauce. Fun times!
We're hunkering down for a typhoon that should be hitting in the morning so everything for the rest of the week is kind of dependent on how much damage there is. We should be fine where we live but they are expecting quite a bit of flooding around the city. I really want to go to the fabric market so that I can start some projects.
I got married a couple of weeks ago, and was pretty active on TK before we (Etiquette and Snarky Brides) all jumped ship and moved to PB. I lurked on TN a little bit, but never posted, but my UN on TK was texasgurly13. I'm getting ready to go into the Air Force in October as an Imagery Analyst. H works as a lifeguard supervisor at a waterpark near here.
Nothing much really going on here. This is the last full week the waterpark is open, so H is working all week. They go to weekends only after this weekend. I'm gonna go through our wedding gifts and try to organize some of it. Everything that came in a box is gonna stay in there (with the exception of our microwave), just to make the move in December/January easier.
I'm really excited, but really nervous about Basic Training. I'm 27, so I'll be one of the older ones there. It's been a long road to get to this point, and I'm just ready to go. H is excited. He's used to moving around and stuff (his dad retired from the AF after 20+ years), and he's looking forward to getting out of Texas and going somewhere else. He's really itching to move.
He's not looking forward to me being gone for two months, but he has a lot of family and friends in the area, so he won't be totally alone.
Cool! I went and talked to an Army recruiter about OCS before I decided on AF, but I ultimately decided the AF was the best fit. I liked my time in AFROTC, and even though I know that wasn't the "real" AF, I knew that the AF was where I could serve best.
Long story short, I was in AFROTC for a year and a half. I was originally supposed to go to Field Training the summer after my first year, but I ended up having medical issues that pushed me back a year. I was in grad school, and that meant more money I would have to shell out. I decided to get out, and finish school. I would try for OTS, but because of my age, it makes more sense for me to go in enlisted and then try for officer later. I don't want to lose a chance to be in because I was waiting on OTS acceptance.

Stan, any updates from your recruiter?
I went and saw an orthopedist today. He put me in a boot, said no weight for at least two weeks then it's up to my comfort. I have x-rays the first week of October to check healing and might be able to resume working out then. This means I'm out for the Army 10-miler in October and that makes me sad. I want to encourage DH to run without me but I'm guessing he'll drop out.

I'm convinced my Dog has fleas. So I've been rewashing every fabric I can in our house and vacuuming like my life depends on it.
I use Frontline Plus every month but I must have messed up last months application. Soo.. now I'm on a mission to never do that again. If anyone has any tricks for fleas I'm all ears.
