I totally rocked my work presentation today and had a great meeting with my boss. Now I'm just hoping for some more work because it's slow. But I've only been here a month, so hopefully they'll figure out how to utilize me soon.
I'm having chicken nuggets for dinner and I'm really excited.
I'm putting DD to bed and stalling and snuggling. I'm really really sad that I have to go back tomorrow. I posted a rant on IG about it too. This is so hard.
I'm feeling super disorganized with Christmas shopping and presents and such this year. I've made a few lists and am hoping to make a Target trip tonight after the kids are asleep and knock out a decent chunk.
I'm also feeling really disorganized at work. Trying to find the right balance between working on current projects and catching up on backlogged stuff from maternity leave is hard!
I'm counting down the minutes until I can put Ds1 down for an early bedtime. 40 minutes to go! I still need 2 hours of chores to do before I go to bed vacuum the house, lint roll the couches for dog hair, DL movies to the iPad for Ds1 to watch in the car & pack.
DD has been talking NONFUCKINGSTOP since we picked her up at 11:30. We went to church and she talked all through that Went to lunch and she talked all through that Came home worked out. STILL talking. TALKED through a movie TALKED through playing with her brother.
I'm hiding in the laundry room for five minutes because I'm about two seconds from telling her to shut up. She's not being naughty though so I'm choosing carefully..but SHUTUP.

Oh, yeah, V has just started in on this phase. it's superhappyfuntimes.

Omg is that hot mess wedding this week?! Are you going to live update us as you nurse during the "reception"?
It was rainy and gloomy today so we had a relaxing and productive day at home: baked Christmas cookies, did a cotton ball "snow" craft, and had a photo shoot for our Christmas card picture (we just sent birth announcements last month, so I'm not in a rush to get these out).
I've got @mrswindycity's loaded baked potato soup in the crockpot for dinner and am delegating bedtime to DH so I can go to Target ALONE.

Yes it is! I think I'll have my hands too full to live post so going to do a recap on the drive home.
I have fallen down the #CruzYourOwnAdventure rabbit hole on tumblr. OMG this is amazing.
(If you don't watch The Daily Show: candidates now put out a lot of un-cut video footage on the web, so that "independent" PACs can download it for use in their own ads. So TDS wants people to make their own ads/trailers from Ted Cruz's footage and post them on tumblr. It's comedy gold.)

Ughhhh L puked at the table tonight. He hadn't eaten in like two days, today had a mini bagel and grilled cheese, so I was hoping he felt okay. Apparently not. He was trying to swallow food and it all came up- I'm hoping that's it and he won't puke in bed tonight. No gym for us again tomorrow. I'm going crazy in the house trying to entertain him. I might try and go for a stroller run in the morning- it should be about 40 and Ella will have to suck it up for being in the car seat/stroller.
preppy, I was really sad when I went back to work. And I'll admit the first few days were hard, but I'm actually really digging the working mom thing now.
H's brakes are shot and what should have been a quick brake pad change turned into a two hour roter change too, after he had me stop to buy them...since his truck was all taken apart already when he discovered the need.
Then he forgot that a friend of his was stopping by with her kids to pick up some sausage he had made special for her. So here I am in pjs already, trying to get C inside for an early bath and bed, and she shows up. Since H was fixing his brakes he asked me to give her a tour of the house quick while he finishes. Then I tell them that I have to go get C in the bath and she and her two kids sit awkwardly in my living room waiting for H.
I don't even have any good cereal to eat for dinner and I'm certainly not cooking for myself. So...ice cream for dinner?

When we were at Home Depot, I dragged the kids to where they were selling Christmas trees so I could smell them. They didn't recognize the Christmas tree smell. Mom fail lol.

I have to sign DS1 up for swim class tomorrow. I hate the process. Registration starts at 730 and if I am not signed up by 732 the classes are full. It makes me so freaken anxious
I'm starting to feel like I am really getting a handle on being a mom of two kids. This probably means tomorrow is going to be a rough day haha.
DD has been potty trained since July. It is awesome, but she will only use a little potty. We take it with us everywhere and she goes potty in the back of my suv when we are out. Today she went potty in a public toilet! You would have thought I won the lottery I was so excited.
Spent the evening at the grocery store freezer meal group. For $89, I got chicken paprikash, spice rubbed salmon, cilantro lime chicken, slow cooker meatloaf, beef stroganoff, cider braised pork, and orzo enchilada soup. Each meal will be at least two dinners for us, they're healthy, and I didn't have to do any prep work for it. It took about an hour. Seriously awesome.
But, after being on my feet in non-supportive shows my bone spur is killing me. I wish they'd call me with my surgery date already.

DD now poops on command. If, after lunch or dinner, I ask her, "DD, do you have to poop?" she goes over to one particular corner of the room and poops. I probably should take this as a sign that she might be ready to potty train, but I'm in denial about that. Diapers for life! (Well, not really for life, but the idea of potty training, with poop and pee all over the house, terrifies me.)
I can't take anything for a sinus pressure headache, right? Other than Tylenol and liquids and praying for death and a not-too-hot bath?
Real Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) is safe during 2nd and 3rd tri if you don't have hypertension. Afrin nasal spray is safe for up to three days (the three day limit is because is causes rebound congestion, not anything to do with pregnancy). Saline nasal spray is always safe.

After L's epic sleep last night, he was just in the best mood all day. I put him in his crib at exactly the same time as last night, hoping for a repeat performance. Fingers crossed!
Last night H gave me the best Christmas present I could ask for - he came home from work and all on his own suggested that he do the bedtime routine with the kids several nights a week so that I can work out during that time and so that he can spend more time with the kids. I had finally gotten into a really good routine working out over the summer for the first time since having J but then when J started preschool in September that all went to shit because I am now using my "lunch hour" time to do drop off and pickup rather than working out. So tonight, H put the kids to bed and I did a yoga DVD, it was amazing!
Also, for two nights in a row the kids have eaten what I cooked for dinner without any complaining. They may have been eating around most of the vegetables in both last night's chicken yakisoba and tonight's steak fajitas but I don't care! They ate it and even asked for more!

DD had her one year appt today, she did well during her shots. Hopefully she feels fine and we can run some errands tomorrow. My life and house are a mess between thanksgiving, disneyland, then all of us being sick.
