Oh my goodness. That ad has some serious detailed instructions.
I thought it was odd when my SIL, who just gave birth to baby #6, sent out an email telling everyone that while she was done birthing children, they would not turn away a baby on their doorstep. I guess I should feel relieved they didn't post a craigslist add stating as such.
Huh. I just...I don't know. One of the most strange things to be is the specific directions on how to put the paperwork in the bottom, then the baby on top, preferably with all their clothes.
This will explain much for all of you who don't know where they came up with the idea.
Oh, I know where they came up with the idea, but America is a far different land when it comes to unwanted infants, and there is a law here were you can anonymously give your baby up at any firehouse, police station, or hospital in pretty much every state.
The county they are in is also almost exclusively white or Asian (95%), and wait list for those races for babies here are long for adoption. It also has an average income that is almost 2X the average for the state, all of which makes this idea even weirder.
The county (Forsyth county, GA) has a long history of weird though. Very long.

I'm confused about why she wanted it for the 14 year old. Did the 14 year old ask for it? Did her mom just decide it was time for her to "become a woman"? Were they planning on keeping an array of babies that got dropped off (except the disabled babies? No one wants a baby farm of broken children, duh.) and raising them? Keeping them til they were grown or maybe rotating babies as they got older?
