Because now my other cat is peeing on our bed. I'm crying every morning over this. And still have no washer and dryer. I have no idea how I'm going to find time today to go to my parents' to wash sheets.
Diabetic cat is closed in our spare room, being re-litter box trained and going nuts.
H wants to get rid of diabetic cat and we're arguing about it every day.
My dog has jumped off the bed & peed on the floor in the middle of the night twice this week, including last night! He's on medication that makes him drink tons of water. But dude. We just got the carpets professionally shampooed, as he hadn't had an accident in over a year- ugh! He's for sure sleeping in his crate until he's off this medication, but he's currently snuggled up to me apologizing for his accident last night. H is the one with whom you need to suck up, pup! Sorry no advice, but sincere commiseration.
Oh and just to commiserate, the day we brought Alex home from the hospital my cat that DOESN'T have pee issues jumped on the bed and peed on my H. Jealous much? I'm sorry:( cat pee sucks.
Feliway never worked for my cats. It's not concentrated enough. Try the calming collars. It's the same pheromones, but around their necks so it's much stronger. It's the only thing that worked for my pee-ers. I still use them in any high stress situation (vet visits, moves, etc) and they really do work www.amazon.com/SENTRY-Calming-Collar-Cats-Pack/dp/B0026JAKWG
I'm sorry. Cat pee is the worst thing in the world.
Feliway now makes a cat urine remover as well. It works better than anything else for us. My cat revenge pees and she tends to continually pee in the same exact spot if she can still smell the old pee. The Feliway urine remover is the only thing I've found that gets rid of the old smell.
I hope your kitties are feeling better soon Cat pee in your bed is the worst!
Make sure and take care of yourself and baby first. Ask your H to table arguing about this issue until after Christmas maybe? Just to give you all a break?
I'm sorry. I dealt with this for 5 years. We tried everything. Prozac, multiple litter boxes, different styles of litter boxes, Feliway, calming collars, calming sprays, used Fizzion to clean, had professional cleaning, made my one cat wear a Thundershirt, countless trips to the vet to ensure nothing medical, quarantined to try and re-litterbox train, increased play, re-introduced our cats, hired a cat behaviorist. I could keep going. The only thing that helped? The non-peeing cat died :/ It was 100% behavioural and territorial and took 5 years to finally end.
I've been there and I know exactly how you're feeling but honestly can you live with this forever? It might be behavioral and diabetic cat is new, right? I'm the craziest cat lady of all time but I'd consider my options of re-homing or returning to the rescue the cat. He might not have these issues elsewhere. My H and I fought over this constantly too. It sucks so bad and I'm so sorry.
