I have a k'tan and a Moby that were given/lent to me, and Hobbes has done awesome with the k'tan. I'm looking for something else to suggest to grandparents as a potential Christmas gift that she will grow into after the k'tan. If parents of differing heights (5'2 and 6'2) could both wear her in it, with adjustment of course, that would be ideal. I'm looking at the Tula, Lillebaby, Ergo, and any others MMM suggests. Thanks!
We liked our mei tai (I had one from Infantino, and have heard Babyhawks are good too) after AJ outgrew the Moby, but I felt like he was too big for it by 6-7 months. I got an Ergo from someone on here and liked it but unfortunately AJ had a very low tolerance level for being worn so I haven't used it a ton.
I would get a Tula for something long-term. I have an Ergo that I've used for the past 20 months, but it started to get uncomfortable and he's only 25 pounds. MH got me a Tula for my birthday and it's much more comfortable. I really like that the hood is detachable on the Tula. I never used it on the Ergo and it bugs me just hanging there.
I loved the K'tan for early on, then moved to the Ergo. Had I heard about the Tula before I had DD, I would have definitely gone for a standard Tula instead of the Ergo.
I have a Lillebaby and a Tula. I haven't used the Tula much yet because DS is still a little small for it without the infant insert or a rolled up blanket. I love the Lillebaby though. It has a lumbar support, which is nice, and the seat is adjustable so it can be used earlier. I use it every day.
If you google "compare ergo and Tula" you'll find lots of comparison photos. My kid was long and the Ergo got uncomfortable around 18 months. Her upper half wasn't supported and whenever she leaned back, she'd jerk me back as well.
This dd was a jerker and would lean so far back it was unsafe and uncomfortable. Other than that I loved the ergo. We switched to the Tula at 11m and we love it. I would get that now bc it is going to last you the longest.
I have a bw mei tai, ergo, toddler tula, moby, and sbp ring sling. My faves are the mei tai, rs, and tula. I hate the ergo. The straps are too wide. The back is too short and DS always seemed like he was going to arch out. The rs was awesome at younger ages, same with the mei tai. I haaaated the moby.

I had a Moby wrap, ergo, and a Mei Tai carrier.
Honestly, we used the Moby for MAYBE a couple months. We alternated between the ergo (husband preferred) and Mei Tai (I preferred) until she was about 1. Then we used the ergo exclusively until she started being a turkey about being worn.
If I had to do it all over again and only get one type, I would get the ergo.
Tula! I originally bought a bobaG4 which is similar to a ergo. The Tula is much more comfortable. I made the boba dh's carrier and just use the Tula. It's nice having two different ones so you don't have to adjust between users.

I loved my Ergo with DD3. I had a Moby that I used with my older two but that was way too complicated; I needed something quick & easy this time around.
I went from a k'tan to a Lillebaby Airflow and I LOVE IT. Easy to wear facing out and facing in. Easy to adjust, keeps baby cool in the summer. At the pumpkin patch for example, I wore her facing out and she was entranced. Once she got fussy b/c she was tired, I flipped her facing in and she happily fell asleep. I've been very pleased with it. I got it off Amazon in the champagne (tan) color.

I like my kinderpack. Do you have a baby wearing group in your area? Puts has a lending library and workshops to try on carriers. Kinderpack is the only one that fits me and baby well. That may be a good way for you both to try on different carriers to see what works, especially with such a height difference
I love my Lillebaby. From what I understand, you can't face outward in a Tula and DS loves looking out at the world. There are some cute new prints! I have the embossed and really like it. Those should be restocked this month, with new colors coming soon.
I really like our Beco. From what I can tell it's mostly identical to the Ergo, but it comes with the infant insert so you don't have to shell out for a separate accessory.
I have used a Moby, Ergo, Tula and ringsling. The moby sucked, hated rhat thing. The Ergo was fine but I found the Tula to be more comfortable. The RS is nice because I can back it in the diaper bag. With E getting bigger its less comfy now.

We liked our Ergo a lot. H is 6'2 and I am 5'5 and we'd go between us without any problems. I can't compare with the tula, but I think it's the Rolls Royce if carriers, so if they are buying....
In the SSC category, I prefer my Lillebaby over the Tula I originally had.
I have: 2 k'tans which I dislike, an infantino mei tai that I've used once or twice, a linen ring sling that I love for just around the house as a hip carry to supplement my arms, but not for long term wear, and a Lenny Lamb mei tai that I absolutely love but E is meh about, and the aforementioned Lillebaby. He likes the Lillebaby best, followed by the ring sling.
I used my ergo well into 2 with my DD. I don't think I've had her in it since she turned three though. I still use it occasionally for my nephew who just turned one when he's here.

Another vote for the Lillebaby Airflow. It's a pretty heavy duty carrier and DD is quite comfortable in it and usually falls asleep super fast when facing in. DH likes to wear her facing out occasionally when we are somewhere exciting otherwise she will crank her neck around to look.
