Well, the first one made me realise what I don't like about these sort of sketch shows - theres a smug "tee hee! we are so funny!" thing going on and that just makes me cringe. Like they are all in the "we are HILARIOUS" gang and isn't the viewer lucky to be able to watch them be so very hilarious?. Its not just SNL tho, lots of shows do that, and I know its my own humour goes in a different direction. There are a bunch of things like that, that lots of people love and they just leave me cold. My girlfriend showed me the "Debbie Downer" thing and was in fits, I just thought it was irritating and obvious and contained the same self satisfied-ness. And the second one I stopped once it got to the first question from the first guy rambling on about everyone telling him he would never get a job. I was already bored lol.

I have no patience.
If you didn't like either of those, you're hopeless.
I didn't grow up watching SNL either,by the way. But Kate McKinnon is effing hilarious. As is Jay Pharoah's Obama.

lol I have never met anyone in the UK that thinks Benny Hill is funny. Americans however...
But you are right on point with the vicar thing lol.
I have never seen the appeal of Benny Hill. Or Monty Python.
:::zips up flame retardant suit:::
The only thing flammable about that is putting Benny Hill and Monty Python in the same sentence lol. Thats like saying "I don't like Chicken nuggets. Or Thanksgiving Turkey". Its fine to not like both, but they are not the same quality level at all lol.
Monty Python is definitely an acquired taste, and the vast majority of their sketches were terrible. But half their movies are classic, and they really did change the face of humour, even if its not your thing. Benny Hill, on the other hand, was just one of many misogynistic perverted "comedians" of that era and is an embarrassment to both the UK and the world lol. Why he got famous or why the USA loved him is a deep mystery. Sort of like that band Bush. From the UK. That no one in the UK likes. That America loved. Some things are just beyond explaining lol.
(cant figure out how to put the video in the post).
That is brilliantly silly. What makes it is the slightly exaggerated facial expressions of the lead female singer. And the fact that it is utter nonsense. I love absurd humor.

Ask your girlfriend about Gavin Rossdale's Rolling Stone cover.

Ab Fab?
Ad Fab was really good. I didn't watch it tho. God, these threads are making me sound like a misery lol. I just have a very childish sense of humour. I think i did not get into Ad Fab because I was too busy with my music life at that time, so I watched it occasionally when it was on, but I didn't like it enough to actually try and watch it.
