I literally have one gift left to buy for someone who has given me no ideas. It's my sister's boyfriend, who I've noticed recently has taken up drinking whiskey instead of beer.
Any good gift ideas for a whiskey drinker? He already has one of the round ice molds. Any other good ideas?
More Whisky! There are some really great small distilleries around these days. DH and I have been having fun buying bottles of these small distillery-brands and trying them. Even when one is kind of a dud, it's still fun to learn what's being made in, say, Bend, Oregon. Walk into a liquor store and ask!
I'd do some lowball glasses and a few small bottles of different types of whiskey, like a rye or something. DH never uses the whiskey stones he has, they don't work well.
Haha, yes, obviously. But besides that? Are whiskey stones something that actually get used? If I were to pair with a bottle of something?
Honestly, I don't know about stuff to accompany. I know for me, I would rather just have more to drink and not specialized stuff that takes up space in my cabinets.
Bottles from small distilleries would be nice. It's fun to try new ones.

I would just go to a good liquor store, tell them your price range and something you have seen him drink, and let them guide you.
I just ordered a mixer called Bittermilk for DH. He likes whiskey straight up, but also likes trying the occasional cocktail. It was from Amazon, but sort of hipster, made in Charleston. I have seen some local mixers from our area, too, so your local store may have them. They run $10-20.
This is just "more whiskey" again, but there's a site called mastersofmalt.com that sells Drinks By The Dram tasting sets. A variety of price points and themes, and you get a cool box of a few small bottles of various whiskies. It's just really well-done. I ordered it for my H a few years ago and he flipping loved it. I'm going to do another one this year.
I got my H an advent calendar from here this year and it has been a HUGE hit. Definitely take a look at their selection.
I actually bought him whiskey stones a few years ago and he never uses them, go figure.
