I take a NatureMade one, the easy to swallow kind. I take one daily, I think it's a little shy of your rec. daily dose.
I started taking it because I have horrible PMS and read somewhere magnesium helps. I also read something about how magnesium-deficient the average American diet is, and that magnesium is an important component to calcium absorption.
I started taking it in October, I had some loose stools at first (sorry for the TMI) but now I'm totally back to normal. And very regular. No other issues.
I use "Natural Calm" It's a powdered supplement that I take daily, dissolved in water. I have taken it for over 7 years without issue; my doctors all approve during pregnancy, bfing, etc. You have to watch the dosage; if you take too much it is like a colonoscopy prep (LOL), but it has been perfect. Fiber never helped me. Magnesium has been a life changer.

Not yet, but I'm about to start giving me and DD2 both Natural Calm, which is a magnesium supplement. I'm going to give it to DD2 to help with her constipation (I talked it over with her doctor).
I'm going to take it because when I was researching it for DD2, a lot of the reviews talked about how it can help with anxiety. I figure it can't hurt :-)

he told me it also might help with sleep. I was thinking... can you take the baby? that would help with sleep too
No kidding!! I hope it helps at least a little bit, though :-)
Yes, I take it right before bed simply because my night time routine is the most consistent. If I miss a dose, I can take it in the morning as well. Timing doesn't affect how/when it works.
