does anyone here sell it or know someone who does? I purchased some before H and I got married and wish I had a few more pieces. We've bough glad containers for lunch things and they're ok (I'm SUPER disappointed in the glad glassware I bought, the lids stopped sealing after a couple of uses). And we bought some at Target with the snap lids, they're ok too. I need some for both lunches and for storing.
- do you think it's worth the price?
- do you use it to store and/or reheat food?
I feel like Tupperware is sort of old school, but I think it's still a tried and true product.
Did you get the glass/snap lid ones they sell at Costco? I heard those are great and made by Tupperware, if I'm not mistaken.
no, I got these at Safeway. I'm pretty sure they are glad brand, but pretty useless because they don't seal or really stay closed for that matter (luckily I only bought 2 as a test run).
I'm ok switching to glass, although I take the bus and it does make my lunch heavier. But I'm also interested in getting some for non-microwave purposes.
We bought two Rubbermaid sets last Black Friday where it has a teeny cup, a midsize and then a large size, varying capacities but interchangeable lids since H would have fits trying to match lids. (Literally throwing a tantrum every time, it was ridiculous!) We've been very happy with those. I get the cheaper Gladware/Ziplock style for things I'm taking places so that if I forget it, it's no big deal.
Regarding Tupperware: I have seen it sold at mall Kiosks. I think there's still one at Southcenter, but you can also buy from them online.
We have a bunch of different brands, mostly disposable, some not.
Just wanted to add: DH insisted that it's "tougherware" b/c it's tough. We seriously argued about this. He was adamant. He's pretty funny.
LOL this is awesome. My H says really weird words all the time, or will use a word in an odd way. Like, he thinks "bunchles" is normal when I'm pretty sure it's "bunches" - like bunches of hugs or something
For the glass with plastic lids I'd get the box from costco.. they are great and I'd save your money and buy some other stuff from Tupperware that you would like!
I just have to add that if you are looking for the non-microwave type I still really tend to like Tupperware. You might pay a little more to begin with but I find the quality is much better and they last forever. If they crack you can always get a replacement. Seems worth it to me!
same way you would bring tupperware to work.......? sometimes in a separate plastic bag, sometimes in a backpack...depends on the day.
How do you put a plate in a backpack?! Doesn't it tip over? I'm mystified by this too.
it's not like a giant dinner plate or anything...and soemtimes food is completely dry where it won't leak any juice, but will slip and slide...same way it would in tupperware?

Ohhh. I was imagining something like this, but with saran wrap over it just bouncing around your backpack.
