Ours is staying the same. But I'm okay with that since it went up last year and is now only $3 less than our mortgage, so I'll take whatever they give us.

Is this bad?
Upon opening this thread my mind went back to the email I received this morning. For the first time in XX months instead of getting an email from the ombudsman back on back where my husband is technically still stationed I got one from the IA ombudsman here in the city where I currently reside. I couldn't figure out why the sudden change and somehow this thread just made me think "they better not have changed our BAH ZIP to here". The most recent deposit to our bank account shows the expected amount but now I feel like I need to ask DH to double check and make sure.
Beyond that and assuming they didn't change anything we'll gain $393/month (I had my tabs backwards, went down $393 but I guess we're grandfathered in) until DH's new orders, the "prenegotiated" ones finally actually get cut.
For the new ZIP where he should be getting orders we'll gain $96/month.
Ok this is a newbie question, but how to I figure out the change for overseas bases? I can only find the stateside ones.
You'll have to look for OHA rates but I don't think they change in the same way that BAH does. I know when we lived in Korea, our rate was set in local currency, but the payout fluctuated every month in USD depending on the exchange rate.

Ah ok, thanks. I did look up OHA but could only find the rate for right now, not for next year.

I want to say they get reviewed every couple of months but our local currency rate never changed for the 3 years we were there. Our COLA, on the other hand, changed often!

It won't really effect us much unless it were to drop a ton now that I think about it. While we live off base, we don't get the extra money we don't put towards our rent here like in the states. They only give us what our rent is and currently our rent is below the OHA allowance. We've only been here a couple months so I forgot that until after I asked.
