They call it a Christmas gift rather than a bonus, but I got a $100 Visa card, a nice ornament, a blanket scarf, and a set of Christmas mugs.

Net was about the equivalent of one paycheck. I upped my 401k to 30% for the month because I'm trying to reduce our taxable income, so gross was much more and I haven't had a chance to look up my pay stub to see the full amount. We get bonuses every 6 months and this was definitely the largest I've received. I was recently promoted and last December I had only been there for a partial year. Our city/office isn't doing that great but the rest of our company is and bonuses are partially calculated by the whole company's profit.

Nothing. When I first started everyone got something at the end of the fiscal year, but its been 2-3 years since that happened; though management is still getting their bonuses.

Our old management used to come around with holiday cookies and say thanks, but last year and this year our new management isn't doing anything. (I should say that morale is bad right now amongst employees and some say the worst they've seen it in 20 years)

My company gives out Christmas gifts to all employees. Bonuses go only to those in sales and recruiting. My gift was $500 in cash and I've only been with the company 5 months. I thought the gift was extremely generous.

I get just about 10% of my base, with the majority of that coming out of my direct boss' pocket because he's awesome and realizes how underpaid I am. Kind of works out since gift = no taxes.

I just realized I've never received a bonus and don't expect to in the near future.

Our compensation structure has bonuses paid post tax season so late May usually, which are performance based, and then holiday bonuses are distributed at/around the holidayy party.

Generally performance bonuses targets are % of you base salary as part of your pay package and the adjusted for performance. While holiday bonuses are just bonuses and are never mentioned in compensation negotiations.

Mine was deposited this morning, 50% more than expected. It's like a trifecta of awesomeness for this month --my husband gets a 3rd paycheck this month (which we don't budget for) and our SS and 401ks maxed so our checks are bigger, too.

My company never does EOY bonuses, our bonus cycle has them hitting in April/May. And they are tiny for my group, if you get one.

We're having a record-breaking year in my region so my bonus will be very good and nearly equal to my base.  Which sort of but not really makes up for the fact that they've screwed me elsewhere financially. 

Too bad the exchange rate kind of sucks right now.  It makes a material difference.

For the first time, my husband is also not getting a bonus. They don't even get to do their holiday party or have lunch catered one day.

GBP, but all my investments are in the U.S. and I transfer the money home so the exchange rate is just depressing, especially on top of the fact that I negotiated my package when the rate was something like 1.65GBP = 1USD and now it's 1.49GBP = 1USD.

Oh yikes, that sucks. I only track Euro and CAD in respect to my coverage, so I hadn't realize GBP had dropped so much.

I honestly don't know if I'll get a bonus this year.  I was on ML earlier in the year, I'm not going to make my hours (though, to be fair, there was never any discussion about whether my hours/bonus would be pro-rated for ML, etc.)   The firm normally throws out a discretionary bonus on top of hours-based, so freaking hope I get something.  Otherwise will just add fuel to the fire for me to leave.

They're negotiating, of course. I'm sure the endgame is to get to a more reasonable level so they can be all, "SEE! They wanted you to pay 10x more but we got it reduced way down for you guys because we love you and care about you and blahblahblah." 

I'm kind of pissed that MH won't look more seriously for a new job/profession. It's so hard to get him out of his comfort zone, he's very easily stressed, and he just likes to complain. He applied for a job nearby earlier this year and didn't even get a callback so he's all, "Fuck this, it doesn't matter, it's useless, I'm taking my ball and going home." Meanwhile I found the job listing out of curiosity and saw that he sent in his application past the deadline date - I didn't mention this to him.

We don't find out until Feb, but it is typically 5-12% of salary. We didn't have a great year though so probably on the lower end.

We get ours in Feb based on PY earnings and a few other random (out of our control) factors. Last year (paid in 2015 based on 2014) was 10.5%. This year, it's not looking as good. Our minimum is 5% which wouldn't be great. I'm hoping for 9%.

mbcdefg I figured that was the case - the negotiation - but it's still ridiculous. It's healthcare, you're not buying a car.

Your H sounds like mine - he knows he needs to get out, but he doesn't really make moves to do so. He brings it up every so often, but doesn't follow through. I don't say anything because I'd hate that he would do something because he felt forced, but it's time.
