The dog woke us up 2x last night. WTF. And when she woke me up, I let her out in the back of our apartment and suddenly I look back out and she's gone. So I grab my slippers and am calling for her. Then look out the front window and she's sitting by the front door. OMG dog.
E woke up with a horrible cough this morning. Just in time for the holiday. I'm hoping it's not too bad and thankfully I think there won't be a ton of kids b/c schools are already out. So we just need to make it through Wednesday and then she's done until the new year.
I'm nursing DD but she's fallen back asleep. I need to Hopi n the shower and get the day started but I'm tired. Funny what staying up until 1 am making photo books online will do to you...
Taking DD to daycare, but DS's school is closed. He'll be coming to the mall with me to find gifts for DH. I figure if I bring the iPAd and put him in the stroller, it shouldn't be too bad. Fingers crossed.

Well... today is day 1 of the 3 day method for H and L. I am opting out for now- too much to deal with that and the newborn at once. It was H's idea, so he can follow through. Lol. The book does say 22 months is the ideal age and he is spot on 22 months, so maybe we will get lucky. I'm only going to have the baby for groceries/errands this morning. It will be weird!
DS is still sleeping, I'm drinking my coffee. I have about a 12 hour work day to put in so I'm going to go to the gym first. Soooo much to do before Thursday! I need to write a list so I don't forget stuff.
We did a big wrapping and assembling toys day Saturday while the kids were at my mom's. I realized when we were done that I am missing several items I bought including a huge bag of books, two Thomas trains, and two pj sets for the girls that includes a matching set for their dolls. I have no idea where they are. I'm going to be searching the house like crazy tonight. This is what happens when you start shopping in the summer. At least I kept a list so I know they are missing!
I woke up to find that DH had put my laundry in the dryer and ruined one of my favorite sweaters. Between that and not wanting to be at work today, this day can't go by fast enough. I still need to wrap DS' birthday presents too, I didn't get to it yesterday
Day 1 of daycare being closed for two weeks. She slept over at my parents' last night and my mom is watching her today.
I spent last night wrapping presents & catching up on DVR while DH worked. It was fine, but I thought we were going to have a dinner/movie date. The joys of owning a small business.
This morning I dropped a glass bottle of iced tea/lemonade and it shattered all over my kitchen spilling the whole 1/2 gallon. I was barefoot of course. I did a super crappy job of cleaning it (was late to work) and emailed my mom. I'm sure she will clean it when she brings DD back....
I am off today. P is in daycare and H is going to a friends place to hang out and play video games all day. Which is good because he's been in 'teaching mode' all weekend and he thinks he's being helpful but I don't really need another lecture on how to split an English muffin thanks.
So an entire day at home, by myself, and it's dark and rainy and I love it.
There is almost no one at work today and I worked four hours over the weekend. I am thinking of leaving at 1 and taking a nap before I pick up the baby. I'm sure something will pop up and I won't be able to, but it would be so amazing if it works out!
We finally got our Christmas tree yesterday, and this morning I turned on the lights and N said, "Look, Mommy! It's a CHRIMAS tree!" We have no other decorations up but I am finally excited for Christmas and feel all festive. My sister is coming over this morning to use my Silhouette to make Christmas cards for her residents (working as a PCA at a nursing home over break) and my mom is coming with her to make a meal plan for the week with me. I'm actually excited about Monday this week.
N is singing "ice ice baby... doo doo doo doodoodoodoo" and telling me about the "good train" Grandpa built yesterday. I love him.
We bought a new tv yesterday! We've been in our house almost 2 years, and our tv has been on the floor the whole time (classy). the mounting/rerouting of wires was a bit complicated and there were just always more pressing projects. So I finally schedule a guy through Amazon Home Service, and he bails on me, reschedules for last Monday, then bails again.
Thursday, the TV died. Thank goodness that guy bailed! So now we have a new tv en route, and a new mounting guy coming to scope everything out tomorrow.
I'm ready for this project to be done, though, because the baby and the floor tv weren't a great combo, and we're all going to be off for a week and a half together.
Our truck needs more work done. I think we at least pinpointed it to rust (transmission fluid leak), but who knows how much it will cost to fix. I am so fucking done with this thing. I want to fix it (assuming it's not going to be thousands) and take it and sell it to Carmax. SO FUCKING DONE.

I finally finished making DD's stocking. My grandma made cross-stitched stockings for all the great grandkids, but she died while I was pregnant, so she wasn't able to make one for DD. It was making me sad and nostalgic, so I decided to make one for DD a little before Thanksgiving... of last year. I was not expecting it to take me over a year, but it's finally done! It's not perfect, as it's the first time I've cross-stitched or sewed anything since I was a kid, but it makes me smile
Also, big thanks to @vicmo , who encouraged me to do it when I mentioned I might make the stocking last year. I might not have had the courage to do it if you hadn't said how easy it would be! (And, aside from the fact that it took me over a year, it really wasn't that hard. Just time consuming. Very, very time consuming.)
Bought DS a new Thomas movie to keep him quiet while DD naps. I knew the voice actor who played Thomas quit awhile back. But like half the cast has changed! The new voice actors suck. Thomas sounds like a squeaky little boy.

It's Christmas for the crickets today! We are at my moms for the week and decided to do Xmas today so that DS would have all week to play with the toys. It was both wonderful and overwhelming. He has gotten so much, without any of the toys we have to give him next week when we are home. I had soooooo much fun shopping for him now that he is almost two, but really, it's just too much. I should just return everything except the train set.
I heard DS awake in his crib an hour ago, but I think he fell back asleep.
We might go to Costco today, before the pre-Christmas crowds get too bad.
I went last Friday about 20 mins after they opened and it was a mad house! Like worse than a normal Saturday afternoon. Hope it's not too busy for you.
I'm working today through Wednesday so dh is doing kid duty while I hide in my office. I volunteered to do ds2s naps though. So I just came upstairs to see he dressed the poor child in a sleeveless onesie, short pants and no socks. Our house is heated to 66F. Ds2 has a cold. How can he be this clueless? At least he remembered to change the kid's diaper.
