The meds have calmed her down a bit. We hoped calmer LMC would be more available for therapy, redirection, discipline etc. But that has not been the case. She is still completely non -compliant . It's beyond disheartening.
The doctor wanted to up her meds drastically but I declined anything but a small increase for now.We haven't seen any evidence that more meds equals better behavior. We really need intensive behavior therapy but it isn't covered. She starts school next week and I am terrified. I hope the break helps both of us and she manages to hold it together during school hours.
I hate to say this but I am a realist, she is beyond damaged and I am not sure she will ever be well :-( Thank you for asking.

Oh H, I'm sorry. I know this wasn't what you were hoping for. Is the intensive behavior therapy not covered at all, or because of her age? If the latter, when will it be covered?
That's so heartbreaking, I'm sorry you're going through it. Your advocacy is so important though - it sounds like you're doing everything you possibly can for your struggling child. Time and love don't erase the past trauma, but time and love can sometimes go a long way.
