Harrison Ford made $34.7M, plus .5% of the profits. (ZOINKS) Carrie Fisher made $2M. (disparity, anyone? WTH) Daisy Ridley and John Boyega and the other guy made between $65,000 and $125,000, according to one source, but another says they made 76 times less than Harrison Ford, which would be about $450,000. I can't find any figures for Mark Hamill.
Peter Mayhew did NOT play Chewbacca in all the scenes, because the actor now has bad knees and walks with a cane.
Mark Hamill said he sort of felt drafted into coming back, even though he was told if he turned it down, they'd just write him out. He said he imagined angry hordes of fans coming after him like Frankenstein's monster, except with lightsabers instead of torches.

He's probably right. People are so invested. Also, they have no life.
Or to put it another way, the unknowns got paid $450k and princess leia got paid a little over 3x what they did ($1.5M estimated by Fortune). She was worth only 3x more than them....DH said one factor, in addition to gender gap, is that Harrison Ford is "still" a movie star who has gone on to other major blockbusters. In which case, the comparison would be Carrie to Mark Hamill's salary for the same movie. Unfortunately, his salary hasn't been disclosed yet. Nonetheless....WTH!

Carrie Fisher is not at all comparable to Harrison Ford both in terms of their careers and their respective parts in the movie (of course one could argue Carrie Fisher just didn't have as many opportunities to have as strong a career as Ford since she's a woman, especially now that she's an older woman). Agree with sunny that Mark Hamill is more comparable to her. I found an article with some more details: "Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher took home salaries in the low-seven-figure range."
The fact that the new stars made SO little is sad since Disney had to know the movies would make tons of money regardless, but again not at all uncommon for "unproven" actors. Hopefully they will be able to renegotiate for future installments.
This particular situation doesn't get much outrage from me unlike some other Hollywood pay disparities.
I think I read that Harrison Ford didn't want to appear in the movie so maybe they kept throwing money at him until he couldn't say no. But I can't believe the leads made so little.

I totally believe this. Although, I'm under the impression that he already had a shitload of money and didn't need this, regardless.
So, of the three, Carrie Fisher was the only one who was totally open and willing from the start. However, at least they got Disney to agree that, if they came back, they had to bring back Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, and Kenny Baker as well.
