My first inclination is to think that these were just stolen because they have resale value, nothing more. Hopefully that's the case. I did notice several more state trooper vehicles sitting at the on-ramps to 76 and 476 this morning; maybe it's related.
Ah Christ. I woke up this morning nervous about my husband taking the train in for work (he does every day, not sure why today felt different). This does not make me feel better :/
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I would not jump to terrorism. They're probably planning to resell them.
My first thought is that they are probably valuable for the scrap metal.
Same. The scrap metal trade is huge in Philly. I remember the news showing that big warehouse fire that happened a year or so ago and there were people out there in the wreckage digging for scrap metal while the news crews were still filming. Cut throat!
Another local story - someone stole $300k in HVAC equipment and wires off the roof of a Boys and Girls Club in Wilmington. And now they may need to shut the center. F those f'kers! First, don't do it. Second, don't do it the week that schools close for two weeks and those kids have limited options on where to spend their day.
