Two days spent with my wonderful, eldest son have re-confirmed that I am not particularly cut out for SAHMotherhood. I mean, he is so smart and sweet and funny and we had a great time. But, oy, 3 hours straight of playing Duplo Super Heroes had my teeth set on edge.
We DID watch the first 30 minutes of Episode IV. He did ok. That was fun.
My ILs bought presents for the boys without consulting us. They purchased a Tee Ball set. Too bad Santa will have brought one first.

At daycare yesterday, the kids were wrapping empty boxes in construction paper. DS was having so much fun wrapping, he did not want to leave when I came to pick him up after work. I jokingly asked if I should leave and come back for him later. He said yes, and gave me a hug and a kiss goodbye!

BabyLiu is really excited. For New Years Eve. Because she gets to drink juice from a fancy cup. Before that she was really excited for the solstice because we ate orange cranberry bread and drank hot cider. She has completely skipped over christmas.
The girls are going to a new school starting in January (which makes me sooo sad because I loved their old school). In their class are kids named Lotus, Zen, and Friend.

I'm terrified how much Elmo crap we're going to get from my parents. They still don't realize that when my kid says Elmo, she just means Sesame Street.
Is there a Rohan culture other than the horse people in Lord of the Rings? Should I have googled?
It's a Sanskrit name so not uncommon in Romany culture or certain other populations from that region. ETA: but my head would've gone there if I didn't have personal experience with it.

Well, now I feel silly. I have no idea what his background is. I think he was blond. It's a Catholic school with a pretty upper middle class population, so I assumed it was youneek. There isn't much "ethnicity" going on.

It really could go either way, could be a family background from Central Europe and chose the name for that reason OR they could be LotR fans.

Lol I was like does she know the horse people aren't real?
J can finally open regular doorknobs. He used his time out last weekend as practice. So now he's learning that if he comes out before the clock turns green he has to go back.
It reminds me so much of Cindy Lou Who who was not more than 2.
Somehow the two gifts in my child's backpack, that were meant for her aftercare teachers, were given to her bus drivers.
I had gift cards for the bus drivers with a note to the kinder teacher. So wtf did they get the presents too? And the presents had names on them.
And today was one of her aftercare teacher's last day so I can't just get something and give it to her tomorrow. Why would the bus drivers not give DD the gifts back when the cards clearly indicated they were for other people??
I'm sad the actual teacher didn't get the gift and annoyed that I ran around getting that stuff together only to have someone mess it up.
C has pretty much not shut up since he got up at 6:30, and DH doesn't get home until 3. Mommymommymommmymommymommymommy. 11 days until he goes back to school and I go back to work, omg. I know someday he may not want to bother with us, but gah, there has to be a middle ground somewhere.

Apparently, FI still has Christmas shopping to do, and DS will not consent to leaving the house. I'm suddenly glad I'm not home so he can't see me laugh at him.

DH took DD to church so I wrapped all of her presents, except the 2 that are at my ILs. I'm bringing the Santa paper with me and one of us will take DD home after dinner and presents and the other will stay and wrap the presents. Pray that dinner is on time and we get home before 9:30.
I'm still not sure why he wanted to take her to church. Oh well, some quiet time for me.
I think DH is assuming we are gonna hang out tonite, lol. I gotta do the Santa business and DD will probably have us up at 5:30 orsomeshit. We need all the sleep we can get!!

Why oh why does my child scream bloody murder when we put her to bed anywhere other than her crib in her bedroom?
We're in a hotel, kid. You're in the same pack & play you've had since you were wee. Same blankie, same teddy, same sheet, same night light, same noise machine. Stop crying like we're actively torturing you by making you go to bed.
