I did! I thought it was fascinating and you're right: it does sound like the Bush Admin really dropped the ball on the pre 9/11 warnings. I thought it was interesting though when that analyst said that even if he had ordered the planes grounded on 9/11, it would have happened on 10/10 or 11/12 or whatever. That it wasn't a failure of imagination so much as one of preparedness and that it took an event like 9/11 to make the country buy into some of the necessary precautions that were put into place later.
I was surprised that they admitted to bombing the guy who blew up the cia dark site in Afghanistan. Not that they did it but that they acknowledged the collateral damage - his wife and children and other people. I'm still not sure how I feel about stuff like that.

You are right. But, the major thing she was saying was that SHE understood Bin Laden from 1993 and had him in sight, wanted to kill him and both Clinton and Bush drug their feet.
I think more importantly she was saying that bin Laden should have been stopped well before September 10th. September 10th would have only prolonged the attack been set in motion. I think it is disgraceful. And I'm glad the CIA directors so it out for themselves and said that they got blamed for this attack 1 they pushed and pushed and pushed to tell them that this was going to occur. And it did.
I have since dropped down the rabit hole and read more about Elizabeth Hanson. I knew the film was based loosely on her but damn, what a fucking asset she was. She was skeptical of him but was still there.
I also think about these individuals are lot and that no one knows their names, they sAve our lives constantly and we don't even know it.
And also since I am apparently on a rampage, the CIA director whom was director during 9/11 and after stated that after 9/11 they won in and within 9 weeks the CIA along with special forces were able to catch almost all of the Taliban controlled regions. He then stated there was absolutely no reason for US troops to go into Iraq. And very clearly stated that this was a political feet on behalf of the Bush administration. The causal reaction of our invasion is now leading us to the radicals Isis and where we are today.
nikki25 what did you think about the torture stuff? I thought it was interesting that only 3 people had been water boarded. The way it was covered in the media, I would have said before it must have been many more. I also thought it was interesting that most of the directors and senior people who were interviewed still maintain that it was effective in stopping new plots and capturing al Qaeda leaders including identifying the currier who led them to bin laden. Someone said in the documentary that the congressional inquiry did not interview any higher up people at the cia about it and that all of their examples in the report were wrong. I tend to come down on the side that it's a bad idea to do it esp if it's ineffective but with so much conflicting info it's hard to know what to think about that.
I also thought it was interesting when the idea that the drones are just as bad (bc of collateral damage and being able to kill someone without a trial) was posed. Should we really be bombing people so easily?
