Has anyone purchased or used the Tyme curling/straightening iron?
I'm thinking about getting one but it's a lot of money and I don't want to regret it. I have thin, fine wavy shoulder length hair that needs to be either straightened or curled to not end up frizzy. If I am going somewhere where I really want my hair to look good and behave well I will straighten about half way down and then curl the ends. I don't have a lot of hair so it goes quickly but I hate having to get out two things to heat up.
My friend's DH got her one and her hair looks fabulous and apparently it's the only iron that she's found that works for her hair type. I was thinking about buying one when my Sedu died last month but couldn't get over the $200 price tag and ended up buying a Chi that I still may take back because it smells like it's melting every time I use it and then it makes my hair smell like it's burnt. Gross.
My BFF has one and likes it a lot and she's supposed to bring it over for me to try out. I didn't realize it was $200!
Yep. My friend got it and the next day posted pictures. Her waves looked perfect. I'm sure I would still manage to fuck them up even with a $200 straightener/curler.
they also have demo irons available right now for $160. you get a 1-year warranty, but not the 30 day trial period. final sale only.
i am such a sucker for curling gadgets.
I'd be interested to see how you like it. I am so challenged when it comes to my hair. .I have never been able to get it look semi good when I try to curl
It really is! I'm kind of addicted to it now because it *is* so easy to use.
How does it seem to do in regards to damage on your hair? I was surprised by this, but certain irons just fry my hair and others don't (admittedly, they are usually the cheap ones.) Does it seem to be ok that way?
i've had it for less than a week, so i can't give a really good answer for that question. it's a really great quality iron though (better be for that price!), and i'm not seeing any difference in the overall health of my hair.

I have super fine hair so I usually don't need conditioner often, but I do need to condition heavily any time I use the iron. It only has one heat setting at 400 degrees. I use a heat protector when I dry my hair and that helps too.
Ok so I LOVE flat iron curls but when i do them with my cheapo remington flat iron, my curls end up frizzy. This doesn't happen when I use a wand or regular curling iron.
Anyone have the same issue? I really want this iron now, and i'm wondering if would solve my frizzy flat iron wave problem
Just to be clear, this is way way easier to curl your hair than a regular straight iron? I have NEVER been able to get the hang of curling my hair with one of those things!

Tyme logo always goes to the front and you pull the iron toward the mirror while rotating your wrist.
The first time I tried it was a disaster, but once I figured out those tricks, it became MUCH easier.
ETA: Now I can do my whole head in about 10-15 minutes. I have shoulder-length fine hair, but a LOT of it. So I consider this really fast. I think I'll stay at the 10 minute mark easily as I keep practicing.
