Might be seeing a friend tonight. We usually go see them on our way to OBX. But since we didn't go this year, we haven't seen them. Getting together with friends for NYE. While I am excited to hang out with my friends, I am not looking forward to spending the evening with my friend's 4 kids. The last time we were there, their son told me that I was big (aka fat). And my friend is the uber-helicopter parent.
After that, H and I are going to do more unpacking over the weekend. And probably go see the Star Wars movie.

Working mon through weds then making a special NYE dinner for dd and I as we toast the new year (at 9p for her) w sparkling cider !
NYD she's all excited about HER parade - known as the tournament of Rosies parade that's been a staple at my house for as long as I can remember #formerPetalPusher this year it's pretty cool bc I actually know someone on a float - the pastor from my gpa's church (in Pasadena ) is going to be on the Lutheran Hour float
I have the week off and spent yesterday doing nothing but reading, napping, and watching TV. It was wonderful. We are going out to dinner tonight and to get groceries, I think it is DH's attempt to keep me from being a hermit. Tomorrow, I see more laziness in my future...
Thursday we'll drive with friends to Niagara Falls for NYE drinking and gambling. On the way we'll check out some wineries in the NY Niagara region (we love the wineries in Canada). Drive home Friday and enjoy pork and sauerkraut (good luck food).
I got invited to a low-key game night for NYE. It's a good friend of BIL/SIL who is also friends with me and H. We're going to play Settlers of Catan all night (or as long as they let me, lol).
Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton
NYE we're going to a buffet/dancing thing at a hotel. There is a good classic rock cover band that will be playing from 9pm on, so I'm excited for some dancing. I actually managed to get a group of 7 people to all agree to do the same thing on NYE, so it should be fun to be out and dressed up with a bunch of friends.
New Years day our team is in the Rose Bowl, so we're planning on going to a local restaurant that has specials and watching the game. We probably won't do anything else that day but relax since we'll be up late the night before.
I'm so excited for both days. Usually my new years plans are not this much fun!
I am working until Thursday noon. Friends are in town for the hockey classic so we will be having an early dinner (Mexican or Thai) with them before getting DD to bed then curling up together on the couch with grown up hot chocolate and a movie. New Year's Day we are invited to a couple of brunches and will be stopping in at both.
H is sick so all these plans hinge on how he feels.
We have shopping to do... a pregnancy pillow and new sheets at least. Potentially other things. A NYE party with friends and lunch/games with other friends NYD. Relaxing. December has kicked our asses. It's been one long crappy month for both of us. Here's to a better new year.
ETA: H has NYE & NYD off. I'm off until Jan 4th (teacher).
We have friends coming to town tonight and we're supposed to celebrate....however, they aren't getting here until 8. I don't really know what to do...this is my college BFF. I know she won't be ready to go anywhere until at least 9.

We're seeing Big Short then watching Michigan State play Alabama. He chose Michigan State in the football pool, but we're so far out of it already it doesn't matter either way.
