Working! All of my calls are getting screwed up (picking up calls for other people who are out, people no showing for my calls, people rescheduling, etc.). But it is all good.
Christmas decorations are mostly done - just need to get the outside stuff down.
NYE we are staying in as always and a few friends are coming over for food, games and drinks!
I have my first busy week in forever! Personal, not work. Taking off early tomorrow to get my hair done and possibly look for a dress. Going to dinner with friends then a house party on NYE. May stop past another party afterward. Someone my H recommended for a job got the job and recently sent him a fancy bottle of champagne (once, after they finished a big project, the guy said, "We should pop a bottle of [X champagne]!" And my H told him that he was listening to outdated rap music and Y champagne was the new hot drink lol. 5 years later, he sends him Y champagne as a thank you, so I think this guy is beyond hilarious and awesome), so I am excited to re-gift it to the hosts because we will never drink it lol. NYD, H's friend and his wife are having a get together. I am cooking NY good luck foods for dinner. The following day, we have a friend's birthday dinner. The next day, I am taking decorations down and watching Downton! Yes!
I took my last vacation days for this week so I'm off until the 4th. We went to the zoo this morning and will try to go again 1 other time. H works. Trying to decide what to eat for NYE so looking for ideas here!

I'm out of the office this week but frantically editing a book for my side gig. It's really interesting (chronicling art of the Arab Spring), which helps.
On New Year's Eve we'll watch the Clemson game, then meet our neighbors for beer and bowling, probably ending up back at a neighbor's house with a larger group. On New Year's Day we're supposed to visit my in-laws, who will be babysitting our (difficult) nieces and nephew, after which I'll be ready to get back to editing!
I'm in the office this week, as I have absolutely no PTO. And I kind of love being in the office over the holidays. It's so quiet and I get so much stuff done! I'm still in the honeymoon phase of my new job, where I don't know how much I don't know.
We are having a super quiet NYE. Hopefully it'll just be me, H and DD. We'll make home made pizzas/ calzones and veg. God help me, after the last 6 weeks I don't want to do a damn thing!
Working a few days, but not much going on. Mostly 1 project I want to get done by Thursday.
For NYE, I made a reservation at a restaurant in my town. We went downtown one year, but with the train schedules, we decided to rent a hotel room. It's easier to stick around our house. Plus, we're leaving early Friday to have Christmas with the in-laws.
I'm working tomorrow & Wed until about 2:00. Taking advantage of all the free time to get in lots of workouts!! NYE I think I'm going to stay home alone and make myself a fabulous dinner and drink some wine and go to bed about 10:00. Taking down the tree at some point. May get a massage this weekend. Going to see the Big Short tomorrow night

Still at my dad's thru Thursday, so just hanging around and visiting friends. Driving back Thursday all day so it will probably be an early night. NY's Day I'm going to a fun run 5k and a potluck lunch with my running group.
Not working, no real new years eve plans. H suggested going to a friend's for a campfire but evidently there is a wedding for friend's uncle at the house. We may crash, though friends mom invited us.
I'm off this week, but daycare is open through Wednesday (score!). I'm using my "me days" (as I like to call them) to catch up on a lot of household stuff, doctor's appointment and lunch (and maybe a movie) with a friend. We are using the 4 day weekend to attempt to potty train DD. Cross your fingers for us!
Currently riding out the ice storm in our house - stocked with tons of food, blankets, flashlights and candles just in case we lose power.
For NYE - heading to my parents to watch MSU play in the football playoff. Bringing lots of snack foods/appetizers/etc. to ride out the night and hopefully watching the Spartans win before watching the ball drop at midnight .
Working, though only one ahole client is bothering me. Admittedly, I am being pretty spiteful...I dislike him so much I have zero motivation to respond to him and actually find myself ignoring his calls, delaying responses, etc. He's just so obnoxious and makes me miserable. Other than that, it's quiet. Nice.
DH and I will be home alone with DD, who will go to bed at 8! We'll probably eat cocktail weenies and watch Homeland. I'm excited.
H and I are both going back to work tomorrow. We are going to see Star Wars tomorrow, other plans for the week include taking Christmas decor down. No plans for NYE, we have no sitter so likely staying in.
The next day, I am taking decorations down and watching Downton! Yes!
Watch it on simplyjune and catch up! I am waiting to discuss Mary v Edith
I know I'm the worst, but for some reason, I've been looking forward to starting it on US time. Part of this had to do with watching in the winter like usual, hot chocolate and being wrapped in a throw, but it's 70 degrees so that's not quite applicable anymore .
We're heading back from Santa Barbara tomorrow, NYE we are staying in and having a seafood boil, and NYD we are walking down to watch a ::cough cough:: popular parade that happens to run by less than a mile from our house.

DH is off and I'm working through Thursday. Yesterday was very quiet and productive, so I'm hoping that trend continues.
We are going to a friend's party for NYE with Star Wars-themed food and nerdy board games. I'm making good luck food (black eyed peas and greens) for New Year's Day, and hopefully getting Christmas out away and the house organized this weekend.
I'm working today and tomorrow; DH is home all week.
NYE I think we'll just get dinner out somewhere (there's a new Creole restaurant I want to try), and then NYD we'll go out to James's grandma's since she does this traditional meal every day where every item of food symbolizes wishes for the new year. Except it will be a three hour round trip drive for like a 60 minute meal/visit.
Plus side of working this week: my best friend is visiting her parents in NJ this week and she and her kids are meeting me for lunch at the mall today (heart)
She and her husband are coming into the city for two days over New Year's so we'll do dinner with them at one of our favorite restaurants on NYE, but we also have spa-ing and a bunch of museum plans and other good meals and such to cram in.
I'm working this week, but off Friday. NYE I'll go to the rodeo in KC. Friday I head up to Des Moines for an archery tournament, the high there this weekend is only 19 degrees
