Cetaphil is the only thing that works for my hands and it doesn't have a smell.
I also like cetaphil because it's not thick, and actually absorbs into my skin. When I use thicker lotions and even aveeno, I feel like I'm coated in stuff and I hate that feeling. I do it out of desperation when my skin is really dry, but I'd rather use an oil and feel a bit oily than use a thick lotion that feels like I just covered myself in wax.
I like using Palmer's Cocoa Butter, can be found easily at Target or other drug stores. I put it on my hands every night before bed and it does wonders.
I have a cousin that sells Melaleuca so I use their Renew lotion. I don't think there's much special about it but it really is what has worked the best on my dry skin and even on my LO's excema.
This. I'm not much into MLMs, but my aunt gave me some the other day, and it did bring down the irritation and redness in my hands dramatically.

Some tips from a long-suffering dry skin person:
Warm baths/showers. No longer than necessary to get you clean.
Don't use drying soaps. I use cetaphil, almond Castile soap
Blot your skin dry. Don't rub your skin dry.
Put some type of oil on your skin, after you blog dry. I like Neutrogena's Rain Oil or the Target equivalent. The Target brand is much cheaper and you get a whole lot more
Use your moisturizer of choice.
Limit getting your hands wet (if you can, easier said than done, I know). Moisturize every time you wash your hands. Make sure your hands are completely dry.
Vaseline. Keep it in the shower. Right before you turn off the water, turn the temp up as high as you can to open your pores. Put it on your wet skin. It won't be greasy like putting it on dry skin.
I used to have this problem and then a friend gave me the most amazing tip and I swear it's changed my life. First you use oil and then you put lotion over it!! So when I get out of the shower I apply either coconut or jojoba oil all over and let it soak in for about a minute and then I apply lotion (I love curel's ultra healing) over it. It makes SUCH a difference! I can go 24 hours without applying more lotion and I'm not itchy. Seriously.
My hands are cracked and painful. I have found Bag Balm, Aquaphor or Vaseline to work the best.
Bag Balm ! I know many people don't like it and I will concede that it's greasy and an acquired taste, but it was my first love lol. Cutting it with lotion and using on damp skin cuts down on the greasiness, too.
I haven't kept bag balm in the house since DD1 and a friend bag balmed the shit out of each other. She was 3 I think and they got it everywhere. That shit doesn't come off.
Uh oh. Is this something because of poor practices? Wait, maybe don't tell me. No, please tell me.
They've been super sloppy with me, and I've been a VIB Rouge member for two years. In 2015, by October, I had only spent $125 with them because they kept missing the mark, and pissing me off. Finally, went my sale invitation arrived late again, I said fuck it, no I'm done with them .
I walked across to Kiehl's (they basically face each other at my tiny mall), was greeted immediately by a wonderful SA who really knew his shit and how to treat customers, then proceeded to make three visits that week ( I had to introduce him to my mother, daughters, and a few friends), and spent about $350 over the course of 5 days. I'm not going back to Sephora. Kiehl's, and other brand specific stores, will get all my money. I've been giving Sephora my gift cards away to friends.
@ameliapond , I told my guy at Kiehl's how awesome you were, and he hooked you up with all the those extra samples, in the gift you received. Let me know if there's anything else you want sample wise!
I've been to their flagship store in NYC a bunch of times. I love that place.
I'd love them more if they'd stop discontinuing everything I fall in love with. And for the love of God, stahp it with the lavender!

I lurve me some cocoa butter. It's the only thing that keeps the ashy off my knees.

Oh gosh. I'm sorry. That sounds like a friggin nightmare.
I've got a guy lol. I don't know what the prices on Amazon will be, but his site is www.puresheastore.com. His soaps are amazing, too.
I didn't see this before I just posted about Kiehl's. We would have skin care guys, lol.
My Top 5 short list of things I take very seriously/ aka I don't fuck around with: *Jesus *Family and friends who are considered family *Skincare *Education and school quality *Quality of doctors, medicine, or things that are medically related
Everything else is just details
Amen. It's your largest organ, people! Be kind to it lol.

Bag Balm is the fucking bomb, and not just for dry skin. I bet if I cut my finger off and reattached it with Bag Balm and athletic tape, it would be totally healed by morning.
